Since most also sell GMC trucks, I doubt they would miss Buick that much.

Is that a Buick Special? We had one back in the 60’s. It was amazing!

RAnsom E Olds was the original owner of Oldsmobile.

When he sold out to General Motors-—he couldn’t use his own name anymore.

So—he started the R E O car company....

My dad, bless him, during his entire life drove Buicks. He;s gone now, but he would be aghast at Buicks abandonment of those big , superior Buick gasoline engines.

One of his favorites was a 1959 Buick Electra. Now we are going electric ? Building a car that will limit the range that the population can travel, limiting freedom of movement across the country?

It is truly idiotic. The attempt to create a market where none exists based on ideology and that an equivalent of some form of whacko religion. This will not last. Americans will never accept such limitations to their freedom of movement,,,,PERIOD.

Give me an Electra, or give me DEATH!

The Old GM Hierarchy

Chevy: Every man’s ride
Pontiac: Sporty
Oldsmobile: Moving up
Buick: A cut above
Cadillac: You’ve arrived

My financially comfortable Uncle drove an Electra.

My Dad drove Oldsmobiles, eventually a Cadillac.

I know that history, but the name was so out of sync with modern, youth-oriented marketing it is humorous and somewhat surprising that GM kept the brand as long as they did.

I actually have very fond memories of my mom’s 1975 Delta 88. I doubt I would like to drive it today, but it was special to me then and a big upgrade from what she had before.

That’s a ‘58 Special. The neighbor bought it used, maybe 4-5 years old, slightly younger than I was. He took me for a spin with the top down. It also had one of those air conditioners that was mounted under the dashboard, the first one I had seen. Needless to say, it made a big impression on me!

I had a 1968 Buick wildcat convertible for several years.

Had a lot of fun with it. Drove it from the East coast to Minnesota and back. What a trip! Huge engine.

The late 60s GS California was hardly that

I’ve rented some of their new stuff

It’s not bad honestly

The old wildcats and Electra 225 of the early 70s you could sure get busy on the back seats

EV cost 70 k, goes 250-300 miles on a charge, a few grand to install a home charger, 30 k to get a new battery, this is insanity . I’ll keep my pickup on the road till I ain’t no more.

I was never a “land yacht” kind of guy (think Camaro, Mustang or Austin Healey 3000), but the Riviera was a beautiful car...just a work of art.

(I won’t discuss the Daddy Van years when we hauled the kids around in a mini-van.)
