Starbucks executives, directors are sued over diversity policies

Aug 31 (Reuters) - Starbucks Corp (SBUX.O) executives and directors have been sued by a conservative think tank that believes the coffee chain's efforts to promote diversity amount to racial discrimination.

In a complaint filed on Tuesday, the National Center for Public Policy Research objected to Starbucks' setting hiring goals for Blacks and other people of color, awarding contracts to "diverse" suppliers and advertisers, and tying executive pay to diversity.

The plaintiff, a Starbucks shareholder, said those policies require the company to make race-baced [sic] decisions that benefit minorities, and violate federal and state civil rights laws.

Starbucks is only violating the civil rights of anyone not in their special race privilege group.

Pay outlandish prices for coffee at Starsucks and help screw over certain people they don’t like with the wrong skin color

Starbux has to be one of the most brilliant business plans of all time.
Sell a commodity item at 3X the going rate and reap huge profits.

I recall in Trumps term when Starbucks pledged to hire 10,000 refugees after Trump issued an executive order barring refugees from entering the US.

The refugee hiring proposal, Schultz wrote, will begin with a focus on people who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel.

I haven’t set foot in Starbucks in at least a decade & just seeing the sign turns me off. Their coffee is horrible - I’m a big coffee drinker in the morning, but if that were the only option, I’d go without. I hope going cashless bites them in the butt, but I would imagine most of the folks that patronize Starbucks are already digital & don’t mind the lack of privacy.

Appeasement NEVER works with the Left. They see it as a sign of weakness.
And it is actually.

Frankly I don’t care - total wasted effort now Biden gave it to the Taliban. We should not be responsible for Afghanistan people.

The good news for Starbucks is that Texas is busing all those immigrants north. New hires!

I hope they sue BofA for its new program of offering special mortgages to certain skin tones. Appalling racism.

A trip down memory lane————
March 22, 2015 USA Today

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz sent out a letter reminding stores that Sunday is the last day baristas will be writing about race on cups, ending the first — and controversial — phase of the coffee company’s Race Together initiative.

Earlier this month, Starbucks baristas were given the option of writing the words “Race Together” on customer cups to encourage conversation on racial issues.

That phase of the program, which has drawn criticism for being opportunistic and naive, had long been planned to end Sunday.

Despite the early difficulties, Starbucks plans to move forward with “a number of planned Race Together activities in the weeks and months to come,” Schultz said in the letter.

“...efforts to promote diversity amount to racial discrimination.” Yes, of course. Talking about general race is a rejection of individual talents and rights.
