Biden delivered the speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, the birthplace of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. But the style of his address — carried on every news network — oddly recalled that of leaders in military juntas.

You are correct in the stigmatization of opponents. The level of raw hate has only before appeared in the election of 1800 and again in the period 1855 to 1861. Ralph Waldo Emerson routinely spewed hatred of the white people of the South comparing to savages and Apaches. Congressman Giddings from Astabula, Ohio regularly, on the floor of the House called for exterminating slave uprisings. How many times did he try to beat in that America is a democracy? It was even the last word of the speech, hammered home.
This incendiary speech about unity was like Pharaoh bringing the last plague on himself and all Egypt.
I listened carefully for the word "Republic." I think he only spoke it twice, one near the beginning, where the MAGA rhetoric began:
"Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the foundation of our Republic."
Yet the speech was all about America's foundational "democracy", and the defense of our "democracy". That's not America.
The other mention of a republic was this:
"democracy endures only if we the people respect the guardrails of the republic"
His republic wasn't America, because he harped on America being a democracy.
"Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the foundation of our REPUBLIC."
