Democrat Mary Peltola won the special election to fill Alaska's House seat for the remainder of 2022, according to unofficial results released by the Alaska Division of Elections, thwarting former Gov. Sarah Palin's bid at a political comeback -- at least for a few months. Peltola emerged as the victor Wednesday when Alaska's Division of Elections tabulated ranked-choice ballots in the state's first use of the system.

Because that’s exactly what happened.
The poll that nailed the final result on the money showed that head to head, Begich wins in a walk, by about 10 points.
The problem was that the moron class was chasing celebrity and Grifter Pundit memes instead of listening to people with more political knowledge.
60% of the initial vote went to Republicans. That was a 7 points better than Trump’s victory in 2020. Yet we lose, because too many morons pushed Palin into the Second spot.
So that headline is absolutely accurate.
Palin lost this, Pelota didn’t win.

Not all of them, but enough of them did because they couldn’t stand Palin.
If she weren’t in the race, Begich would have won in a landslide.
Palin needs to drop out.

Ranked choice voting is an abomination; a way for the nefarious miscreants counting the votes to achieve the outcome they desire. There is NOTHING fair about it.
Begich’s 2nd choice votes went to the Democrat. What a shock when his grandfather (Democrat Nick Begich) held the seat before Don Young and his uncle was Democrat US Senator Mark Begich.
