I know this is very well-intentioned and it is refreshing to see patriotic young people but does anyone else have second thoughts about the appropriateness of painting an image of the American flag where cars will be driving over it?

Not a problem in my head....The magic word is "image".
Would you prefer BLM like the NYC Mayor helped paint in front of Trump Tower?
These kids did a good thing....

And leaking oil onto the painting of the flag. Half a year later and the painted flag will look trashed.

Is there a YT of this? I refuse to comply with Fox’s mandate to turn off my ad-blocking.

I agree. I’d rather it be somewhere that it doesn’t get trashed.

I don’t care fir it. Reminds me of the flag fervor after 9-11. Every fast food cup and bag was festooned with the flag, and they were laying in the gutter.

If you can get arrested for defacing BLM or Rainbow graffiti on the street, then maybe we can finally see some arrests for defacing an American Flag.

It’s OK to disrespect the flag if you do it from patriotic motives. (/s)

I remember when my daughter was in hs (1998) a kid painted his spot with the Confederate flag to celebrate his southern heritage. Nowadays he’d be sent to a concentration camp.
