As Expected, Val Demings Will Face Sen. Marco Rubio in November

It's now official: Rep. Val Demings won the Florida Democratic primary on Tuesday night to challenge Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican, come the fast-approaching November midterm elections. The race was called 8:00pm. With an estimated 84 percent of the vote in, Demings has 85.32 percent. The second place finisher, Brian Rush, trails far behind with 5.82 percent.

In a statement about Demings' win, Elizabeth Gregory, the communications director for Marco Rubio for Senate, said that "Marco Rubio has consistently delivered huge wins for Florida families, working across the aisle to improve the lives of people throughout the state. Meanwhile, Pelosi Puppet Val Demings votes for Joe Biden’s failing agenda 100% of the time and would be a rubber stamp for Democrats’ radical agenda in the Senate. Demings is desperately hoping Floridians will look past her record in Washington but this November, Floridians will remember that while Marco delivers results, Val Demings is just another radical rubber stamp."

Pollsters had already begun asking Floridians whether they prefer her or Rubio ahead of the primary. One from the University of North Florida Public Opinion Research Lab found that Demings led Rubio by 48 percent to his 44 percent. It was conducted online via email from August 8-12, with 1,624 registered Florida voters and a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

Well, lil marco better get off his ass and shut this down. DO NOT take this mostly peaceful can't-i-date for granted or the possible voters she will attract.

Oh, O.K. I'll vote for Little Marco because he works across the aisle, isn't that called an assistant Democrat?

Assistant Democrat.

Slightly better than a real Democrat, but not going to Make America Great Again, especially of he gets the amnesty he’s been working on since he got to the Senate.

Living in Florida, Rubio can’t take this election for granted she is a formidable candidate, Rubio should win and having DeSantis on the ballot will help him but it won’t be a layup

That she is a formidable can’t-i-date is very troubling in and of itself.

Micro Rubio wouldn’t have a problem beating her if he wasn’t trying to abandon the rule of law and surrender the country to illegal aliens with amnesty.

BTW, he and every other Bush League Republican that supports open border/amnesty KNOW they are importing a permanent Democrat majority.

The only people who don’t are the fools voting for them.

It's a shame Cthullu isn't a candidate. Then you wouldn't have to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Not a very good message for this election cycle.

Yeah, Lil Marco vs. somebody who likely is fine with blackouts, famines and most of us eating bugs. I’m not sure it’s a difficult choice.

Micro Rubio can’t help himself, he’s always been an Assistant Democrat.

Yes, Demings is so bad, even I would hold my nose and vote for Micro Rubio, but Trump should not have endorsed him without extracting from him a pledge to not support amnesty.

Amnesty is the opposite of MAGA.

Bingo. Her tv ads are very effective, she is going after Rubio on his abysmal attendance record.

I despise Rubio but will hold my nose.

In a different climate, she would win handily, but this is a Red Wave election in a DeSantis Red State and thus I think Rubio will squeak it out.

Would I cry if he lost? Hell no.

That was 9 years ago now. He was already solidly re-elected since then.

You have been advocating for a massive Democrat majority for some time now, and those of us who have paid attention know that quite well. Your narrative continually blows up in your face especially after that last string of decisions by the SCOTUS, but you keep on keeping on...

Amnesty Senators are still working to get that permanent Democrat majority.

Cornyn, Grahamnesty, Tillis, Hoeven and Rubio still want amnesty.

Cornyn said so after he helped them get the Biden Boondoggle Bill passed.

What I have been advocating for is an ACTUAL opposition party, not the current Assistant Democrats that you insist we must keep re-electing.
