Keller Independent School District outside Fort Worth returns "Anne Frank's Diary: The Graphic Adaptation" after controversy
The Texas school district that ordered a version of Anne Frank's diary to be removed from its shelves last week says it has added the book back into its schools after igniting a media firestorm...
Board president Charles Randklev lashed out at the media and outside critics of the school district during the board's public meeting Monday.
"The media has done an absolute(ly) terrible job on covering what's happened over the last week within Keller ISD," he said in a statement, to applause and some yells from the room. "For the record, Keller ISD is not banning the Bible or Anne Frank."
Attacking what he said was "a misinformation campaign of lies" and an "unhinged mob". Randklev said the board's aims were "to protect our children from pornography" and "championing transparency by opening up the procurement and challenge process to the public."...

Is there a more asinine media talking point than “Banned Books”?
Was that a hard decision?
I read that book a couple times a year
The version makes Anne Frank a lesbian. At
east that is what I understand. If so, it is evil.

An Amazon review:
“The artwork is very nice. The pages are glossy and made of quality paper, and it’s a well constructed, substantial book for the price. However, the book is written as if Anne Frank had the mindset of an overly sexual 16 year old living in 2020. I bought it for my very mature 10 year old daughter that has been learning about the events during World War II and the Holocaust. Puberty hit her early, and unfortunately she is having to deal with issues that go along with that. I can see horny teenage boys liking the fantasies that the main ‘character’ has about both boys and girls, but my daughter was not impressed with that aspect of the book. While some may applaud this ‘open minded’ creative license from the author, my daughter found it very puzzling. She wondered if she was in the minority for not having romantic feelings for both sexes, and it appears that was the intent of the book. It comes across as the perverse fantasies that a teenage/20s boy came up with, and not the thoughts of a young Jewish girl in the WWII era that wasn’t exposed to modern ideas of AMERICAN sexuality as it is portrayed in the media. Otherwise it is a great book, but I wouldn’t recommend it for the intended age group listed on the book. At least 14-15 years old and up, and the book should have a warning about the mature content. My parents (I’m a millennial) would have quietly made this book disappear from my bookshelf, and my grandparents would have set it on fire.”
“For the record, Keller ISD is not banning the Bible or Anne Frank.”
So, they never took the Bible or the Diary of Anne Frank off the shelves and both are now available to the students?
They started a new book review policy which led to the claim that books were “banned”.
Regardless this is an anti-pornography in schools policy as stated by the board president.
THAT book?
So this isn’t her actual diary but some editorialized version of it? Well, in that case . . I guess i don’t care if it’s on the shelves or not.
As I understand it, it was a comic book (Graphic Novel) portraying Anne as a lesbian. The same with the version of the Bible they pulled. If so, every member of that school board should be removed.
Texas Right Wingers Attempt To Ban Anne Frank Diary Adaptation
Right. This is not the real deal. It is a fictional woke version designed to contaminate the minds of children. It should banned from schools with children.
This was a graphic novel that included sexual matters not in the original.
What’s the story with the original? Did Anne actually write it or her father? Wasn’t there some controversy about a ball point pen being used that didn’t exist at the time? Or was that conspiracy nonsense?
I’m sure after a few weeks in the concentration camp Anne recalibrated her assessment about humans being good at heart.
People are evil at heart in need of grace and without it are doomed to Hell justly.
