It was either a proper or improper search - whether or not he voted for Trump is not relevant.

For years I had this belief that the burden of proof is ALWAYS on the government. You know, that whole.. innocent until proven guilty and that beyond reasonable doubt stuff.

Dershowitz says they should have enforced the subpoena. Ok. Both parties show up in court and make their case. Judge then decides who has the better argument. If it’s DOJ, Pres Trump hand the stuff over. If it’s Pres Trump, DOJ gets nothing.
a subpoena is a request before you go to court. A… pretty please.
Get a warrant and Pres Trump has to give it up and/or they come get it. Then they argue in court after the fact over the validity of the affidavit.

I have heard him often say that he loves Hillary and voted for her. I haven’t heard him recently, though, because whatever stations he must be on are stations I don’t watch.
Saying you voted against someone doesn’t necessarily mean you voted for the other main candidate. He could have written in anyone. He may be doing that lawyer speak here.

The attorney chose his words ... he is quoted above as saying the search was “improper” ... that’s much different than “illegal”.

It is possible he didn’t vote for Hillary or Joe, but I tend

As for lawyer speak, wouldn’t put that past him. I try
to watch what he says to look for wiggle room favoring
