What’s happening in the nearly six-month-old Russo-Ukrainian war? It’s hard to say. Moscow expected a proverbial cakewalk and bungled its initial attack. After rebuffing Russia’s assault, the Zelensky government expanded its objectives, expressing its desire to reconquer portions of the Donbas seized by separatists with Russian support in 2014, as well as Crimea, which had been formally annexed by Moscow.
In recent months, however, Russian forces have made slow progress in the Donbas and now occupy a fifth or more of Ukrainian territory. But Ukraine and its advocates have been threatening counteroffensives against Moscow’s supposedly overstretched forces. Conflicting claims have been made about casualty levels, the impact of high-tech allied weapons sent to Ukraine, and both sides' prospects in the war.

Wars of attrition favor the side with a larger population. That is what this has devolved into.
Given that everyone here has access to the same sources, I’m starting to wonder if the people here claiming that Russia is losing, and especially those constantly posting articles to that effect, should get a bit of a ‘cooling off period’ after the truth of this war finally makes it into the Western media.
Since the battleground is solely in Ukraine, if the war is still going on, they aren’t winning.
He gives us history but doesn’t address the question he asks unless you consider the answer to be ‘everyone lies’.
Who is winning? UKRAINE! They are handing the Russians their butts. The supper weapons we gave them have unmasked Russia as a paper tiger. Their vaunted warships only good for man made reefs. There tanks only good for burning their own crews alive. Their generals only good for target practice. Their jets unable to dominate the skies. We should have put in the No Fly Zone—so as to let Ukraine retake all they lost and more of Russia. Nuke war? Ha ha! They will not work or be a threat to us. They might have been a danger 40 years ago—But Not today! They quake at the thought we would strike them so they will not launch anything. It was all just talk. A first strike would take down the whole rotten country, let China have the east, and Ukraine and Poland the west. Let Putin be their last leader. This is a great day for Democracy.
I question whether history actually bears this out. Particularly recent history. I think it has much more to do with the will to fight. There is a home team advantage there. Occupiers can be worn down. Again recent history supports this.
That’s right. $ being sent to Ukraine is basically going into a giant Slush Fund.
Many of the weapons being sent to Ukraine are being sold on the black market.
We sure aren’t winning.
