I usually vote AGAINST candidates, not FOR their opponent.

As George said:

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."

I would vote for oz in the same way I voted for mccain or romney. Any RINO is better than a democrat...unless their name is cheney.

BS article. The ONLY way to purify the GOP is to sit home and let the Democrats destroy the country and enslave our kids, or something like that, I guess. Right?

So the Republican isn’t perfect. Well, Jesus isn’t on the ballot this time. Who’s your second choice?

Does Oz even know how to load that shotgun?

I thought we were supposed to be pushing the RINOs out? Kemp in Georgia is a good example of this. But Dr. Oz seems like the king of the RINOs from what I know about his statements and record. So why does he get a pass?

In vote for congress and senate, you are really not voting for person (despite some who would like to convince you otherwise.
You are voting for the party. Most congress people, like them or not, are generally voting the party line. Even real RINO’s are voting mostly Republican.
Even McCain , despite trying hard to be maverick, voted with the party most of the time.
Basically, the “best” Democrat is a lot worse then the worst “Rino”!
I have checked it and it is true all the time!
Even if you do not like the person, he/she will going to vote mostly your way!

“I don't like Oz, but am ok with 1/3 of PA's prison population being let loose.”

What is wrong with people.

He’s running against a man who belongs in a circus freak show. Fetterman makes Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren by comparison look like sober and upright statesmen.

At least Oz didn’t live off Daddy’s allowance until he was 49 years old. Or chase down joggers with a shotgun. He doesn’t want to abolish ICE, or parole people who commit cold blooded murder for heroin money.

At least Oz has a functional brain and his capable of speaking in coherent sentences.

“Not a fan of Dr. Oz?”

Why would anyone with half a brain vote for that brain dead Democrat who is running on a nothing agenda much like Biden did?

In an election between two humans, you choose the one who is better, or less bad. Perfect isn’t on the ballot. The only time I’ll sit it out is in the case of a Soros Republican who somehow gets through the primary process.

If any of the impeachment Repubs were on the ballot in my state I would prefer the Democrat if that’s the cost of getting rid of the Quislings.

That isn’t the case with Oz, at least not yet. I could vote for him with a clear conscience. If after he’s in office he turns out to be a Liz Cheney then we address it two years down the road. But while I suspect he will be a squish, he isn’t a Soros squish.

Voting isn’t marriage

true, it’s easier to get rid of a wife than an incumbent.

I don't care for Oz, but I think the way to look at the race is not Oz versus Fetterman (who is a Communist freak), but a Democrat-controlled Senate versus a Republican-controlled Senate.

That makes the choice a lot easier: Vote for a Republican-controlled Senate.

Sounds like BobL could’ve written this one. :-)

But it’s the same reason I will likely vote for Boobio in the general here in Florida. Some FReepers will say, “YOU’RE A SUCKER!!!” And I will say, “Yes, I would be a sucker if by omission I let the FL Senate Seat be filled with somebody who is perfectly fine with famines, energy shortages and most of us eating bugs.”

It’s almost a fetish for some people that they need to like the candidates. I vote for whoever I think will do the least damage and occasionally might even produce a benefit.
