Rusty Bowers is headed for the exit. After 18 years as an Arizona lawmaker, the past four as speaker of the state’s house of representatives, he has been unceremoniously shown the door by his own Republican party.
Last month he lost his bid to stay in the Arizona legislature in a primary contest in which his opponent was endorsed by Donald Trump. The rival, David Farnsworth, made an unusual pitch to voters: the 2020 presidential election had not only been stolen from Trump, he said, it was satanically snatched by the “devil himself”.

This is a very Arizonan story. But it is also an American story that carries an ominous warning for the entire nation.
Six hours after the Guardian interviewed Bowers, Liz Cheney was similarly ousted in a primary for her congressional seat in Wyoming. The formerly third most powerful Republican leader in the US Congress had been punished too.
In Bowers’s case, his assailants in the Arizona Republican party wanted to punish him because he had steadfastly refused to do their, and Trump’s, bidding. He had declined to use his power as leader of the house to invoke an “arcane Arizonan law” – whose text has never been found – that would allow the legislature to cast out the will of 3.4 million voters who had handed victory to Joe Biden and switch the outcome unilaterally to Trump.
Bowers has a word for that kind of thinking. “The thought that if you don’t do what we like, then we will just get rid of you and march on and do it ourselves – that to me is fascism.”
Come January, Bowers will no longer be an Arizona politician. He can now speak his mind.

“The thought that if you don’t do what we like, then we will just get rid of you and march on and do it ourselves – that to me is fascism.”
This supposedly knowledgeable lawmaker doesn't understand representative government. See below quote from John Adams.
"Rulers are no more than attorneys, agents, and trustees, for the people; and if the cause, the interest and trust, is insidiously betrayed, or wantonly trifled away, the people have a right to revoke the authority that they themselves have deputed, and to constitute abler and better agents, attorneys, and trustees."
Replacing one representative with another or choosing a different representative for an office IS NOT "fascism."
Also, there is nothing "fascistic" about the people revoking power back from their representatives to exercise it themselves. From the Declaration of Independence:
"whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise"
But you see how quickly these types move not only to the mouthpieces of the left (the Guardian), but their language as well.
Yea, sensible populism is nuts.
People voting other people out for not doing their job, there is a word for that.. democracy.
The left has a simple rule—
If they win it is Democracy.
If they lose it is Fascism.
Led by McConnell & Cheney, these Elites are willing to take down MAGA candidates in favor of Democrats. That midterm Red Wave election? It's looking less likely, and my hope is that enough voters will finally see these 'arrogant pricks' for what they are.
Bowers has a word for that kind of thinking. “The thought that if you don’t do what we like, then we will just get rid of you and march on and do it ourselves – that to me is fascism.”

Is he talking about the FBI, because this is exactly the behavior of the FBI. And as is often the case, most people have no idea what fascism is, but we do have it in this country with the “public private” partnership between Big Tech, Big Pharma, and Big Retail with the Federal Government to craft the laws and rules; laws and rules which benefit those connected corporations at the expense of the public.
“The thought that if you don’t do what we like, then we will just get rid of you and march on and do it ourselves – that to me is fascism.”"
Translation into plain English:
Oink, sob sob sob... oink oionk oink squeal snort oink sob sob snort whuuuf oink sob sob sob oink oink.....
Excellent!
“That midterm Red Wave election? It’s looking less likely”
I don’t buy that. This is manipulative poll season.
“The thought that if you don’t do what we like, then we will just get rid of you and march on and do it ourselves – that to me is fascism.”
Democracy is fascism. Ignorance is strength. Love is hate.
Regardez vous the source of this screed, the UK Guardian, a deeper LEFT publisher that even(?) the New York Times! Once a organ of the UK Labour Party at a time when it was Stalin-communist. Became middle-class for a while but has now gone back to its roots in my opinion!
As compared to actually stealing elections, creating votes and using the law enforcement machinery of the government to suppress political opposition?
Is the English translation of that, "He can now stop lying about what he really believes"
When MAGA wins, the RINOs whine and refuse to lift a finger to help and withhold money for the campaign. They even covertly or overtly help the Democrat to win. They would rather have a Democrat win than MAGA.
I hate RINOs more than any Rat. RINOs are the reason for the Left-dominated woke clown world we have had to endure for the last two years. They are embedded spies, and it's long overdue that we kick them out.
Very well put.
My current tagline may offer some insight as well.
How sour the grapes...how sweet the tears.
The gall of these people who feel somehow entitled to the position for life..
What do you call Republicans like Bowers and Cheney? Democrats. They represent only a sliver of the party.
