Pro-Trump wins in blue states leaves moderates skeptical of red wave

Some Republicans are expressing concern that pro-Trump candidates in blue states, where the party has typically found success with more moderate candidates, could hurt the chances of large GOP gains in Congress and statehouses this November.

"It can’t continue," former Connecticut U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays, a moderate Republican and Trump critic, told the Associated Press referring to the GOP choosing pro-Trump candidates. "One of the things that will happen is that a lot of the Trump candidates who won the primary will lose the general election. And there are a lot of unhappy Republicans who hold office now who believe that the Senate now is in jeopardy of staying Democratic."

Republican voters nominated pro-Trump candidates in several blue states, including Maryland and Connecticut, where more "moderate" GOP candidates have typically found success.

The left and the media have been feeding John and sue all the things that are made up and truth is rare.

I talked to a man in Walmart trying to sell subscriptions to Atlanta Journal. I wont have that paper in my house.. thats how it started. He tried to avoid conflict.. a black man..and said .. without saying name..some said he lied about mexico paying for the wall.
Look, Trump is a business man .. he deals.. he didn’t say they would write out a check.. there are ways to trade, sell, block..

Never mind all dems lie..!!

“moderate Republican” = socialist

“moderate Democrat” = communist

“progressive Democrat” = stalinist

“Trump critic” = loser

Exactly!! I was reading a Fox News article online today, and this is what one of the people who posted a comment there said:

"Years ago, I was a delegate at the republican state convention for my state. One of our leaders made the statement that we may need to compromise some of our convictions in order to gain power. Once we have gained power then we can leverage our convictions. I and some other delegates response was, by the time you have gained power you will have lost your convictions."

Funny, I never hear this talk of a need for “moderation” on the Left.

If a “red” wave comes with a dozen new Romneys, Cheneys and Pences I’d just asbsoon not have it. The country either moves away from these folks or it doesn’t. It’s not up to Republican primary voters to ensure status quo.

They already are which is why when they put up a RINO, see Kent, MAGA needs to say. Too bad, should have accepted our choice.

Exactly, getting rid of the RINOs may cost us in the short run, but will pay off down the road. In sports we call it “blowing up the team.”

Chris Shay, what have the RINO wing of the Republican party done for the American workers? Look at Bridgeport with ruined factories that made machine tools, auto parts, electrical products, undergarments and steel. Also, Chris Shay visit the Brass Vally (Naugatuck River) to see factories that made brass, clock and watches and tires or you can visit Eastern Connecticut for what you did to the textile industries. Chris, we are tired of Moderate Republicans selling America to China...

The blue states are the vote fraud states. So even if the people living there did wake up they could not change the outcome of the results.

Remember when the reason to oppose Trump was because he wasn’t a Conservative? Then it was that he didn’t have the experience. Remember when he was going to nominate his sister to the Supreme Court? Remember when it was because he’d start ww3? They have now flipped everyone od those issues on their head. He’s too “right wing”, he nominates radical right wing judges. He isn’t tough on Russia. The only thing that they care about is that it’s not him in power. They don’t care about anything else. You’ll note that none of the original reasons they told us Trump was not thr right guy exists anymore. Laughable

Trump probably won New Jersey in 2020

As did Jack Ciatarelli, in 2021.

It’s not nonsense, but it is overstatement.

I can tell you, without hesitation PA senate seat will go blue this fall. OZ (Trump endorsed) has zero chance of winning here… but OZ is a fraudulent RINO and not a true MAGA conservative… so this isn’t a example of a true conservative not being able to win in PA it’s an example of a horrible candidate. Had a True MAGA candidate been nominated PA would be winnable, no not easily but could have been winnable… with a turd who has no base and campaigns by focus group, not a chance in hell.

The question are there other states where a senate primary went to someone too conservative to win? Arizona probably has the most outspoken MAGA candidates and it sure doesn’t seem like they are in any risk of losing the general election even though Biden allegedly won it in 2020.

There may be cases where the Senate primary winners are too conservative for their states… but the biggest example I know of a lost general because of a bad primary winner is not one where the primary winner was too conservative
