The FBI raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf club could accelerate a widely expected presidential announcement, insiders close to the billionaire told The Post.
“There are more and more people telling President Trump to announce right now. He’s got people calling him,” said one person in Trump’s orbit.
There is an increasingly widely held belief among Trump’s friends and hangers-on that the energy and outrage generated by the federal search is the perfect springboard for an announcement in the months before the midterm elections in November.
“In the days after the raid we saw all fundraising records broken. This isn’t my first rodeo. I know what the signs look like,” said Michael Caputo, a former assistant secretary of public affairs in the Department of Health and Human Services in 2020, who remains chummy with Trump.
Since the raid, Trump’s political action committee has raked in millions of dollars in new fundraising, the Washington Post reported. His Save America Political Action Committee had reported more than $100 million cash on hand before the raid, federal filings show.
Caputo, who last spoke with Trump at the Conservative Political Actions Conference in Dallas earlier this month, said he used to favor a more cautious approach, but his calculus — and advice — changed after the raid.
“My advice for the president [before] was you want elections to be about midterms and Joe Biden, not Donald Trump, but now with this raid Donald Trump is on the ballot no matter what happens in the midterms,” Caputo said.
Trump so far is approaching the matter cautiously, and not inclined to rush into an announcement, instead preferring to let the news coverage of the FBI raid unfold without his interference, other confidantes said.

Fully agree the GOP is hellbent on losing the Mid-terms so Trump should announce and light a fire under their asses..
The Democrats want power.
The Republicans want their piece of the political pie. They don't need to fight to get that.
Mitch’s establishment candidates lost so he is perfectly fine with losing the Senate. Trump is going to have to go out and do the Senate leadership’s job for them.
It would essentially put his name on the ballot for the mid-terms. The MAGA crowd would crawl over broken glass to vote a straight "R" ticket to ensure Trump has a majority going into 2024.

Knowing what we know about Trump, I don't think he could bear that.
And this is how the Deep State has put his back up against a wall.
I agree, it has become obvious that Mitch is taking a dive so the MAGA candidates will lose. Trump needs to go all in and make taking that prick down as part of the mission.
IMO, the 8/8 raid was done to stampede Trump into announcing early. That way, they could run against him instead of the individual house/senate opponents. It would nationalize the mid-terms, and the Dems think that’s to their advantage.
Again, IMO.
The opposition does have be careful, if he does announce.
If they attack too severely, they have a tendency to make their political attacks look political.
If they don’t attack, he might win because even many of the 81 million votes for Biden are disenchanted with Biden. Talk about buyer’s remorse.
If inflation is still running rampant, Dems will likely be doomed, regardless of who the Republican opposition is.
But, there are die-hards who will vote for any Dem and Dems know how to cheat especially in presidential elections.
That was my first thought. However, I have a feeling that the Dems are trying to goad Trump into announcing. We will find out soon enough.
It was the Deep State that groomed Obama, not the Democrat Party (the Democrat Party doesn't think that far ahead). And it was the Deep State that installed that idiot Joe Biden as President.
There’s a certain logic to that. That said, I think they were trying to remove Trump, not put him on the ballot.
The two party system is nothing more than a political optical illusion.

IMO, an early 2024 official declaration by PDJT might considerably enhance GOP turnout for the crucial Midterms, essentially putting President Trump on the 2022 ballot.
Furthermore, I understand from various legal analyses that his formal announcement would offer him significant immunity against any prospective legal prosecution!!
No it won’t........he would have to pay out MILLIONS for his Rallies if he did that.
Friends: Get him announce for President, fast.
Enemies: Get him in handcuffs for TV, fast.
