Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., claimed this week that helping Ukraine fight off Russia is a “top priority” for both Democrats and Republicans.
“I think we all agree the most important thing going on in the world right now is the war in Ukraine,” McConnell said after being asked about the House’s $40 billion aid package for Ukraine.
McConell said he expects “substantial support” from his party for the package.
“We’re going to try to process it as soon as possible,” he added.
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., the No. 2 GOP leader in the Senate, agreed and predicted “a big vote over here” for the bill.

We fomented a revolution in Ukraine that overthrew a democratically-elected President. That set a civil war. We trained, funded and enable neo-Nazis to persecute and murder the ethnic Russian population. We broke the promise we made to the Russians not to expand NATO eastward and teased NATO membership for Ukraine in their backyard. We armed Ukraine with offensive weapons. And, we were running biolabs with deadly pathogens in them in Ukraine because we didn't want to run the risk of operating them here.
And, why did the powers that be do all that? Because our corrupt political class and oligarchs wanted to destroy Russia and make a buck in what was left of Russia like they have been in Ukraine. And, because fueling anti-Russian hatred is great business for the defense industry.
There is no national interest in Ukraine. It's only of interest to our corrupt political class and special interests associated with them.
We MADE Russia our enemy and that has endangered national security. Doubling down by continuing this proxy war will only make matters worse.
We nor NATO can beat the Russians in Ukraine. It would be worse than Vietnam to even try. We need to end this madness before we start WWIII or a see a nuclear war breakout.
I call on all Louisiana freepers to vote against Cassidy if he runs in 2024.

It doesn’t matter. At bottom are you willing to have some clueless 19 year old from zero city,any state get killed over the Donbass or anything else in Europe. The US was involved in Europes’ problems in two world wars and spent decades covering for them in the Cold War as they insulted and belittled America constantly. So now let the smartest and most sophisticated people in the world sort it out. Remember the Euros couldn’t handle Serbia and evil Bill rushed in to have his very own Splendid Little War.
America only exists to serve Ukraine. They are doing the work we will not. Only Ukraine is of importance! We should give them the planes, ships, tanks, guns and rockets to win the war. Anything else is cowardice and treason. To not give all to brave Ukraine is to be a ally of Putin.
Chechnya isn’t a country. It’s a Russian Republic. How can Russians invade their own country?
I don’t understand why so many people cry about the “poor Chechens” and why so many people actually believe that Chechnya is a separate nation.
Besides, the subhuman Chechen islamists had it coming. Remember Beslan? The Moscow theater massacre?
