The Biden administration wants Israel to review its “rules of engagement” during military operations in Judea and Samaria after the killing of Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, three Israeli and US sources briefed on the call told Barak Ravid of Axios on Wednesday.
US pressure for Israel to review the guidelines is unusual, but comes as the Biden administration faces pressure to do more to ensure accountability in Abu Aqleh's death.
The rules of engagement define the circumstances under which Israeli soldiers can use live fire.
Abu Aqleh, an American-Palestinian Arab, was shot dead on May 11 while covering clashes between IDF soldiers and terrorists in Jenin for Al Jazeera.
Israel has stated that without access to the bullet which killed her it is impossible to know which side fired the shot. The Palestinian Authority (PA) initially refused Israel’s request to launch a joint probe to investigate the incident, and instead released the findings of its investigation, claiming that she was shot by IDF forces.

I hate to sound crass - but if you are a civilian who’s put themselves into an area where military operations are occurring (ex: Rachel Corrie or Benjamin Linder) or are a reporter doing the same thing, your safety cannot be guaranteed.
I doubt the IDF will be taking advice from the Cowardly Abandoners of Afghanistan.
1. Netanyahu did the congratulating. He is not currently in power. 2. Like the head of any state, it was Bibi’s duty to put Israel first, just as Trump put America first, and he knew from past experience that Brandon was a vindictive, bigoted SOB, who was inclined to love the Palestinians uber alles, so Israel’s interests required him to congratulate the Brandon quickly.

I read one story a few months back that said the Biden Admin has been disclosing Israeli operations against Iran to the Iranians. Obama did the same, there were rollups of Israeli intelligence agents in Iran after Obama took office.
Biden can’t afford to publicly oppose Israel, but there are a lot of ways Biden can sabotage Israel, and you can bet the Dems are looking for every way possible to do that.
