I’ve never understood the love affair American conservatives have with Bibi.

He’s a very personable guy (yes, you get to meet your politicians in Israel), very smart, and understands the threat poised by Islamic savages throughout the world. Certainly no commie or Leftist.

But he’s Likud, which is a center-right party. Basically he was about Myth Romney level starting out, drifting right as reality set in, both economic and militarily.

I’m not Likud, fitting in far more to the right and libertarian, both religiously and on an economic/government, basis.

I think American conservatives like him because he came into his own during Obama and (despite being on the milquetoast side) was a complete and utter contrast to Obama, in that he loves America and Israel, doesn’t hate white people, doesn’t hate capitalism, and (because he was forced to for our survival), stood strong against Obama’s coddling and love of Islamic savages.

But is Bibi some great prize? Nope.

He’s the kind of compromise politician you get in a ultra-divided parliamentary system when 1/3 of your populace are utter nut job atheist leftists.

After the Holocaust and decades of relentless muzzard enmity I cannot figure out how so many Israelis are extreme leftist, anti-Reform Zionist pacifists who literally hate the IDF and deny that many Arabs want Jews mass murdered. Because the US has suffered zero in the great wars of the 20th century this sort of communist hatred of capitalism and the American nation by left wing, largely atheist Jewish, intellectuals from the NY-Boston axis is explainable, but for refugee European Jews in Israel it defies logic. The only reason these people aren’t either dead or still refugees begging to be let settle somewhere is that the mostly Zionist Jews made their own country with guts, ruthlessness and courage. Do they value their Marxism above their and their families physical existence?

I don’t try to understand Leftists. It hurts my head.

The closest I get is they have a general self-hatred that expands to things somewhat similar to their origin — white, Judaeo-Christian values, good life due to capitalism.

Self-hatred explains: body mutilation, abortion, desire to be replaced by persons as different from them as possible, destruction of society by communism, environmental demands that would make it impossible for humans to live on Earth, etc.

You can see it in their jokes: “Hoping for an asteroid 2024” “which COVID killed everyone” etc.

Yes, but Jews had the recent (in historical terms) experience of one of the most powerful nations in history literally trying to kill every last one in Europe, for starters. This is as real as history can get. Do these leftist loudly secular atheist Jews think they are above ‘all that’ and their exceptional intelligence and super smartness award them some sort of permanent history exemption pass due to their ‘’COMPASSION’? I am talking in part about Israeli Jews , who I have heard curse the IDF and call their own country an’illegal settler state’. Are these people literally crazy?

Sorry to chime in so late, but there is an anthropologist named Edward Dutton, who, in his work “Spiteful Mutants”, tries to explain leftism by faulty genetics of the persons in question.

I don’t know how seriously to take Dr. Dutton, but maybe he has a point. After all, I am at a total loss for words when trying to explain the ideology and the behavior of the left at all.

Thus, I’m grateful for even the tiniest shred of a possible scientific explanation...
