A woman wearing a Ukrainian Flag was escorted out of a tennis match at the Cincinnati, Western Southern Open on Monday. Two Russian female players were competing against each other, one went to the chair umpire and said the woman with the flag was bothering them, at which time the chair ordered the woman removed. She then asked the chair why and the umpire responded with it is too large and not nice. The woman then responded it’s not nice to invade a country either.
It was a tennis match. Sometimes politics need to be left out of things.
The chair did the right thing.
This tourney is right in my neighborhood. I have attended in the past. Interesting to watch.
Yeah, two 20 something chicks that probably live in Miami or Monte Carlo are responsible…
Entitled, virtue signaling cont
The Russian tennis players have been treated terribly, including being banned from Wimbledon unless they denounced Russia and as you said, most don’t even live in Russia. Medvedev moved from Russia with his parents when he was five. So I was happy to see the chair umpire make this decision. She was allowed back in but only after removing the flag.
Them not being allowed at Wimbledon was a disgrace.
Ukrainian learns that progs only value them if they can profit off them.
Good.

The writing level of this article is that of a 3rd Grader. “Too large and not nice”. “You’re not nice!” “No, you’re not nice!”
The mask Karens are now the Ukraine Karens.
OR
The mask nazis are now the Ukraine nazis.
I’m gonna duck now.
Dang chairs judging humans. It's like Beauty & the Beast
except with tennis and judgmental chairs. Judging.
Hey thanks! Nice compliment, I’m only a second grader.
Bothering them how, exactly?
Is Ukraine still the current thing?
I thought Orange Man Bad peddling the plans for nuclear bombs to terrorists was the current thing.
As I understand it, the Ump asked her to put the flag back in her car or she would be kicked out. At which point the disrupter started smart mouthing and was removed. Russia wins that battle, too.
Sports events are for civilized countries
if Russia can’t / won’t behave like a civilized country - as in respecting its neighbors’ borders and not invading, for example - then Russia has no place in sports
EVERY OTHER country in Europe had no problem respecting Ukraine’s borders, and didn’t invade ... Russia was the only one that couldn’t behave
good riddance
There are multiple accounts of this story on line. It seems she was’t doing or saying anything, the size of the flag was larger than allowed. She also had on some kind of flowered head wreath. When she was asked to leave the stadium she walked around the grounds with the flag and was approached by security and officials threatened to call the police if she didn’t remove it.
Which parts of the Ukraine are Russian, and which parts aren’t? That seems to be the root cause of the confusion. For all that matter, Galicia is arguably part of Poland so...kudos I guess to the Poles for not invading yet.
All of Ukraine belongs to Ukraine, if that’s what you mean
just like all of the United States belongs to the United States, not Mexico
that’s why we call them “sovereign nations”
and that’s why it’s such a big deal when their borders are violated without any justification
