Every weekday AM, I watch a show from Canada called :HIGHWAY THRU HELL”-—which follows major towing/recovery firms cleaning up various wrecks on local highways.
Very, very interesting. Men with NO PHD is Physics are pulling thousands of pounds (100,000 +) of wrecks out of ditches or up off the sides of steep slopes down. One event even showed a BARGE was used in a large lake to recover a SUV that had gone off a curve & down a steep hill—coming to a stop about 70 feet from a pristine lake.
They took the wrecker & crew out on the barge——go/t cables attached, turned & flipped the SUV onto it’s wheels, and down to the barge-—from the barge-—and took the wreck back to the yard. NOT a drop of contamination into the lake..Was 10 miles from barge landing to point of vehicle recovery.
MY POINT”””
Let’s see how many of these highway wrecks will be recovered in the future when there are NO FOSSIL FUELS.
NONE......NONE—30 ton 50 TON wreckers-— NEED REAL POWER.
EVEN your pissant compact needs power to pull it out of a wreck.
I see the Mayor is a good Irishman…
You would think rational people of character would be open to, would want to debate radical ideas like this before impacting peoples lives with them, but they’re not rational and of character. Climate disillusion is their god. A way to pretend they are adding value to the world while gaining some sick ego trip around all the nonsense and waste. If they weren’t doing this, what else would they be doing? Tackling tough, non imaginary things? Too hard.
Fine by me. Let ‘em freeze. They are not paying attention to what is happening in Europe. The northeast USA has left little sunshine compared to AZ, CA, TX. Wind is iffy too. Nukes are out of the question.
Instead of a building directly using fossil fuels, for example, heating via natural gas furnaces, instead they use the same fuels indirectly via the electrical grid.
From everything I read, if new and renovated buildings went 100% electric that might be too much for New England’s electric grid to handle.
If I remember right, New York is importing more and more Quebec Hypro power because of the shutdown of the Indian Point nuclear reactors. No hydro left to bail out New England.
Idiots
“signed into law by Republican Gov. Charlie Baker last week.”
I really don’t think they have any such thing as Republicans in the state of massachusetts.
I think the expression goes.......’Let the Yankees freeze, in the dark”
I was just wondering what it must be like heating a building in the Northeast with electricity.
Boston is a very corrupt city.
Developers can bribe their way out of anything—including this.
The mass media will never find out about it—they will be too busy howling with TDS.
Flash forward to now and the recycling can and garbage can both go to the same landfill. If the government couldn't get the trash right by their spending plans, it's probably not a good idea to offer up our energy, Healthcare, education, banking, retirement plans, law enforcement, borders, and transportation, for them to get garbage results with.
How do they know natural gas is a fossil fuel?
It’s found on Titan (moon of Saturn), Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
It’s not likely any of those places were ever teeming with life.
Our family moved out of Boston about 100 years ago so we don’t care ,LOL
No they are not. Those of us who were born in Boston, attended Boston schools, and know the neighborhoods, We are Boston. If you were raised in
Wellesley, Plymouth, even Cambridge, then you ain't Boston.
Hey, I moved out of that dump decades ago, but I can still claim nativity.
Boston is nothing like what it was before the mid 1970s.
How are they going to generate all the electricity to power all these all-electric homes, apartments and vehicles? They are shutting down all the fossil fuel generation plants.
I endorse this heartily.
More for us in the red states!
“..And every Petroleum company in America should jump on board and help them through this transition by Immediately STOPPING All sales and deliveries of petroleum products to the entire State....”
Yep!
That would stop this BS stone cold dead in its tracks.
I haven’t seen a coal stove in an office in ages.
There was that Scrooge guy…
