Ex-Portman director: Elect Tim Ryan. Deceitful Vance follows Trump's hate-mongering steps
yahoo.com ^ | 8/16/22 | Jonathan Petuchowski

Jonathan Petuchowski is a principal of First Majestic Asset Management in Columbus. He was a legislative director to U.S. Senator Rob Portman when Portman was in Congress.

The two candidates for U.S. Senate from Ohio offer a stark choice to voters.

Do we want a senator who believes in democracy — that we should honor the will of the people?

Do we want a senator who tells the truth and is consistent in his core beliefs? And do we want a senator who can represent all Ohioans and bring us together to solve tough problems?

In answering these questions, I am both an Ohioan and former legislative director for Republican Rob Portman.

I strongly support Democrat Tim Ryan. When I served in this role for Portman, who had just been elected to the U.S. House, he was active legislatively and responsible for the drafting and passage of nine important bills in his first five years.

At that time, Rob Portman had a firm rule in place that he would only sponsor legislation that was bipartisan — there would need to be one or more Democratic members of Congress who joined him in offering legislative approaches to address matters of public import. It was also practical — it meant something could get done.

This insistence on working across the aisle allowed for a strong sense of unity and for a focus on shared goals. It also meant he tried to represent all the people in his district, not just those who voted for him.

This is the type of leadership that we can rely on from Tim Ryan if he is elected to the U.S. Senate.

Isn't it amazing that these aides to "moderate" Republican senators ALWAYS support Democrats over conservative Republican nominees.

We've known this all along of course. These are Democrats whispering in the ears of Republican senators, advising them.

Portman's preferred candidate came in FIFTH in the primary. He and his ilk ARE NOT in tune with the Ohio electorate.

GO VANCE!

What do the democrats support that we want? NOTHING

Its important to see what the other side is saying. You fight better when you can recognize the enemy.

“Why post this? This is a piece supporting a Democrat.”

So that people can see what’s going on with these RINO Senators.

Portman was clearly being advised by somebody that would prefer a Democrat over a Conservative Republican.

And this type of thinking pervades government.

But these types are slowly being exposed and purged.

Why post this?

It is quite clear to most people and it should be crystal clear to someone with the handle "TakebackGOP".

The GOP is filled with RINOs and this is a perfect example.

With Portman gone, there is now one less to worry about.

You answered your own question. What concerns me is the fact the FreeRepublic Zot Kitty died. She used to deal with posters who are trolls.

Conservatives are always expected to hold their nose and support the GOPe candidate.

When a conservative wins, the GOPe never supports the republican candidate.

Portman is the senator from the Chamber of Commerce and he doesn’t care what we think. Neither did his flunkie.

Vance is going to win in a romp.

and yes, isn’t it “amazing” how the Democrats are so upset that their precious RINOs are being slaughtered? Isn’t it equally “amazing” how many RINOs support a Democrat over a MAGA Republican?

Petuchowski, would his ethnic heritage put him from a certain Eastern European Country which is famous for jokes about their populace?
My Slovak Grandparents on both sides were right about “those people” to the North. Then again, they didn’t like “those” from the South much either.

Supporting Tim Ryan just may prove my point.

Why post this?

It's been said, there are no stupid questions. I beg to differ. This particular question is about the dumbest of all stupid questions. It gets repeated here daily. It gets answered the same way, daily.

“Vance is going to win in a romp.”

Then he’s got a hell of a lot of ground to make up in order for that to happen, and Vance better get around to it quickly. The “polls don’t matter; it’s not even Labor Day yet” excuse is getting to be more and more irrelevant.

At this point it looks like both Ohio and North Carolina are 50-50 propositions at best for the GOP to hold those seats (and PA is gone), but maybe we’ll pull out a big upset in Georgia. Nevada (#2 on the possible pickup list) will be close and the outcome will be in doubt — until the last fraudulent Democrat vote is counted.

Apparently the racist Democrat candidate for Senate in Wisconsin is odious enough that Ron Johnson *should* have an easier path to re-election than expected, so that’s a likely hold at this point.
