He was the Chief Justice of the state’s Supreme Court as I
recall.

Funny, no mention of that in the leading background materials.

Is Gloria Alred still in Alabama, helping her client hold Judge Moore accountable for what he did?

I think I remember her saying she would.

Easy Peasy. No problem funneling that amount of US taxpayer money through the Ukraine. Just a drop in the bucket.

That's great!

A jury awarded Gibson's Bakery $43 million for libel, to be paid by Oberlin College. Oberlin has lost every appeal so far, but Gibson's hasn't yet seen a penny of what they're owed. They won their case more than three years ago.

Judge Roy was narrowly defeated because:
1. False charges of sexual misconduct; no credible evidence was brought forward and the charges went silent after the election. (He dated and married a legal adult who was about 15 years his Junior. This fact suddenly became a crime in eyes of many women-libers.)
2. Made enemies with the republican establishment, who then endorsed the democrat. He would have been difficult for McConnell to control.
3. He espoused strong traditional Christian values. This was too hard-lined for many in the agnostic mainstream, who can tolerate any type of behavior other than traditional Christian.
4. Likely voter fraud. He was leading by 7% and 5% in two separate polls taken just before the election. This lead was in spite of the barrage of outside-funded attacks from both Democrats and Republicans. Democrats bused voters from other states to places like Birmingham. Several precincts with about 100% turnout voted heavily for his democratic opponent (Jones).

Yes, what it the writers problem? Does he not know the difference between a Judge and a Sheriff? I don’t think Judge Moore was ever a sheriff and I don’t think there is such a thing as a “republican Sheriff”, its just Sheriff.

“Failed Senate Bid”

So, for $8M, the Democrats got a badly needed Senate seat (in a very, very, red state), and GREATLY empowered the RINOs to stop Trump’s agenda (by making the Senate nearly 50-50). I’d say it was a small price to pay for the Democrats.

As to Moore, he was an idiot in dealing with the issue, so he didn’t do the GOP any favors either.
