ussian President Vladimir Putin on Monday touted a new era of weapon systems that he says are "decades ahead of their foreign counterparts" while his nation simultaneously faces a stiffer challenge than expected from Ukrainian forces.
Putin's comments came as Pentagon officials estimate that between 70,000 and 80,000 Russian troops have either been killed or wounded in action since the Ukraine invasion began February 24.
As Russia continues to lose not only soldiers but artillery, Putin maintains an optimistic outlook with Russian allies in Latin America, Asia and Africa that have "historically firm, friendly and truly trustworthy relations" and are being provided "cutting-edge weapons—from small arms to armored vehicles and artillery, combat aviation and drones," according to an English translation of his remarks.
"We are talking about high-precision weapons and robotics, combat systems based on new physical principles," Putin said. "Many of them are years, perhaps even decades ahead of their foreign counterparts, and significantly superior in terms of tactical and technical characteristics."
Putin made the comments at the opening of the Army-2022 International Military-Technical Forum and the International Army Games 2022 in Moscow. The forum consisted of about 1,500 domestic defense industry enterprises presenting over 28,000 modern samples of military and dual-use products that were slated to be demonstrated.
His comments came on the heels of reports from the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War that Russian volunteer soldiers have allegedly not been paid or adequately fed, and have not received previously promised benefits for their participation.

It’s a provable FACT. Russia has NO technology industries to build such weaponry. Russia has no advanced microelectronics industry (they imported most from the West and Asia). Russia has no advanced software industry (they imported most from the West). Russia has no ball bearings industry (they imported most from the West). Russian industry lags behind in many other areas too.
Furthermore, Russia’s “stealth” jets and other advanced weapons are wooden models and not one is in service. NOT ONE has ever been seen anywhere for that matter.
Russia is the world leader in Fake News so they fool the media easily.

How is # of himars relevant to being mobilized??? Being mobilized in this case means that every able-bodied person and half the non-able who can carry rifles have been conscripted by the press gangs and hauled off to the Donbass to face off against the most dangerous military organization on the planet as cannon-fodder, and Russians have lots and lots and lots of cannons... They also have better multi-launch rocket systems than himars.
It’s relevant because the US Army has 500+ HIMARS and has given a literal handful to Ukraine so far. Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are being trained in NATO countries now. Ukraine is just scratching the surface of its combat power while Russia has already failed in its goal of destroying Ukraine as a nation.
After six months of war all Russia can do now is destroy Ukrainian villages. Should Russia threaten to do any more than that an avalanche of military aid will flow to Ukraine. Time for you to accept Putin has lost. Kyiv is lost to Russia forever.
