Federal agents removed top secret documents when they searched former President Donald J. Trump’s Florida residence on Monday as part of an investigation into possible violations of the Espionage Act and other laws, according to a search warrant made public on Friday.
F.B.I. agents seized 11 sets of documents in all, including some marked as “classified/TS/SCI” — shorthand for “top secret/sensitive compartmented information,” according to an inventory of the materials seized in the search. Information categorized in that fashion is meant to be viewed only in a secure government facility.
It was the latest stunning revelation from the series of investigations swirling around his efforts to retain power after his election loss, his business practices and, in this case, his handling of government material that he took with him when he left the White House.

This raid may be because they want to create a cloud over Trump that would be very similar to the cloud over Hillary. I believe they would run her in 2024. It serves their purpose if both candidates have the same classified documents baggage to deal with. The give away was the hat she was wearing just after the raid. All of this happened right after the CPAC straw poll.

As if Republcan’s should ever getting another President, Congress, AG they would actually have the balls to raid former Dem Presidents.
And if they even planned a raid, they would get heads up warning anyways from their friends in FBI, DOJ, etc

I agree….and it’s also meant to demonstrate left wing power and scare anybody who doesn’t go along with them, even moderately left-leaning people, so much that they’ll just keep their mouths shut and offer no resistance.
It’s meant to use Trump as a way of attacking and silencing the political opposition all the way down the line, from your Representative to your school board member and the town dog catcher.
Nothing sticks, so what is it? Why won’t they truthfully and publicly say what they have against DJT? I bet the answer would be too revealing about themselves and their rotten motivations. With all the money being thrown around I suspect embezzlement and misappropriation.

My theory is that they are CLAIMING to be searching for classified information so they can always hide behind “national security concerns” whenever any questions about the raid are raised.
Plus the Espionage Act, a Congressionally created statue, cannot apply to the President. Separation of Powers violation.
Sometimes I have the feeling that those people may be the majority of the country…
The raid/document seizure was done in service to the lie that Trump staged an insurrection to retain power. According to the internal logic of the lie, the documents kept by Trump had to have been done so to help him seize office. Whether the docs were declassified or not is immaterial for purposes of the overarching lie/propaganda/narrative.

Weren’t these documents sent to Trump’s residence by (wait for it) the federal government.
The MSM leaves the impression that Trump packed the boxes secretly and put them among other personal stuff to move.
There is no way an espionage act can apply to the president. The remedies to a rogue president is impeachment and removal and they tried that twice.
