Attorney General Merrick Garland revealed Thursday that he “personally approved” requesting the search warrant that triggered Monday’s unprecedented raid on the Florida home of former President Donald Trump and revealed the Justice Department had asked a federal magistrate judge to unseal copies of the warrant — if Trump and his legal team do not object.
“The Department filed the motion to make public the warrant and receipt in light of the former president’s public confirmation with the search, the surrounding circumstances, and the substantial public interest in this matter,” Garland told reporters.
“Faithful adherence to the rule of law is the bedrock principle of the Justice Department and of our democracy, upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly without fear or favor. under my watch, that is precisely what the Justice Department is doing,” he continued.
Garland, who spoke for four minutes and took no questions, confirmed that copies of the search warrant and FBI property receipt were given to Trump’s attorneys on Monday and added that they were “on site during the search.”
The Attorney General also addressed the recent “unfounded attacks” towards the FBI and Department of Justice in the aftermath of the search, saying he “will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked.”
“The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated, patriotic public servants. Every day they protect the American people from violent crime, terrorism and other threats to their safety while safeguarding our civil rights. They do so at great personal sacrifice and risk to themselves. I am honored to work alongside them.”

Where is the affidavit? That is the key document that provides the basis for the raid.
By not presenting the warrant to the lawyers on the scene is it still technically legal? They botched it up from the get-go. They were going for information and information turned into a panty raid.
Garland was late because he was clearing it with the WH.
Merrick Garland has proved he can’t take a punch. The more you hit him the meaner he gets.
If they didn't find what they came for, they'll try to hide that fact for as long as they possible can because they'll look like idiots.
.
How about something that’s never been been prosecuted before -
And something a FED Raid has never been conducted before for a VP or POTUS?
Just like the firing of the Prosecutor in Ukraine for Cash - Never been done before in History
Did he run that quote passed Sean Hannity? Or maybe Sean helped him write it.
I agree. It’s like throwing a guy in jail for a week because of a broken taillight. Clearly, other motivations at work.
He is releasing it because Trump will eventually do so, and several news and advocacy groups are filing suit to get it released.
Garland ain’t doing anything because it’s right. He’s doing it because he has no choice...
They certainly have a copy of the original.
Trump says the ball was in their court. DOJ is responsible for the paperwork and what can and cannot be released. Garland authorized the release of the warrant and the list of items taken. He did not release the affidavit, which remains sealed.
Oh maybe it’s just that simple. Their hatred for this guy is over the top they become irrational. Merrick Garland should be on drugs. His mission in life is to destroy Donald J Trump. And even if it’s for jaywalking.
Let’s see how specific the list of what was taken.
Maybe it was vetted by Hugh Hewitt, the Radio RINO.
Hugh Hewitt is bad not in a good way.
“The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated, patriotic public servants. Every day they protect the American people from violent crime, terrorism and other threats to their safety while safeguarding our civil rights.”

Garland screwed over Flynn and backed Judge Sullivan’s lawless behavior.
His statement was:
“The sky is blue and FBI is brave and fearless.
See yah, wouldn’t want to be yah.”
