Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump and former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, disclosed Tuesday that FBI agents stopped him on family vacation and seized his cell phone just one day after the bureau raided the former president's home and offices in Florida.
Perry told Just the News three agents approached him with a search warrant while he was traveling with family Tuesday morning and asked for the phone.
"They seized my phone, imaged it and returned it to me," Perry said in an interview.
The congressman said he was shocked the bureau simply did not ask his lawyer to retrieve any evidence they wanted from him.
"They could have simply asked my attorney," he said. "They didn't need to stop me when I was traveling with family."
Sources familiar with the episode told Just the News the warrant is part of a broader investigation into efforts in Pennsylvania to contest the November 2020 election results or consider alternate electors that could be offered at the Capitol on Jan. 6. They declined to be more specific.

and I suspect they thought he would be carrying it on his

And, under our current system of injustice as administered by the FBI and Justice Department, he would have been thrown in jail and rotted for a year or two before he was even charged, and denied a ‘speedy’ trial as guaranteed by the Constitution. I guess that part doesn’t apply any longer.
Imagine the scene when a serial killer is apprehended by the police …
POLICE: “We have a warrant for your arrest for the murders of 25 people.”
SERIAL KILLER: “I’m not going with you. Call my lawyer.”
POLICE: “Oh, OK. Have a nice day!”
It doesn’t work that way, people.

If he really wants to enhance his appeal among the dingbat Karens in his district, he should complain that the FBI agents weren’t wearing face masks.
As if that isn’t the point of the exercise.

Let them take it by force. Would be a great story on the news. Don't fight, but resist. He should have kept it in his pocket, said what I said he should say, and let them wrestle him to the ground and forcefully remove it -- arresting him if necessary. Deal with it later in court. He's a Congressman for gawd's sake.

Let’s avoid the circular firing squad. I think Perry is more than motivated to fix the FBI and all of government when Republicans have the power to do so. Quite honestly, Perry is one of the few congressmen that are worthy and capable of taking McCarthy’s place as Speaker after the red wave in November.
