I don’t believe it. She’s hiding to get away from the firestorm of training out a family’s home. Comas can be so convenient.
Did drinking Vodka with Wine chasers have anything to do with what happened?
I have no idea what Anne Heche has been doing with her life, but I don’t wish her any ill. I always figured she was more than a little confused.
Meanwhile, the rest of us have slipped into a banana republic.
I assumed the doctors were going to put her into a coma anyway, for a week or two, as she did her most critical healing. If she went into this state on her own, that’s a serious downturn. We may never know what was going on in Anne Heche’s mind as she sped like a bullet through a residential area. I tend to think she was suicidal. If so, then take yourself out. not a bunch of innocent people.
We all will atone for our sins.....
What did she know that could have led to the arrest of Hillary Clinton, as the old saying goes?
As I understand it she had two crashes, one right after the other. How could she get her car going fast enough after the first crash to do that amount of damage to the house?
Anne Heche seems like a very sad and troubled woman - fortunately that she didn’t kill or injure anyone else on her drunk-driving spree. Severe burns are something I would wish on no one. Best wishes for this woman, and hopefully she recovers.

She came from a messed up family of origin. Her big brother died in a car wreck in 1983. The investigation said it was a mishap. She later claimed that he committed suicide by driving into a tree. Here it sounds like she hit one building, then right away got up an incredible amount of speed and plowed into another. She may have been trying to kill herself.
Has the Darwin Committee been notified yet?
The smoke was so thick and the fire so hot as reported by witnesses and firefighters that they were surprised Heche was alive.
If the skin burns were severe enough and covered enough of her body, that would be enough to take her out but she also has burned lungs that will not recover. I don’t see her chances being very good at this point but she could surprise everyone again. Then she would have to face a long healing process followed by prison time and a life of painful disability.
Dying would likely be a mercy for her at this point. At least she didn’t kill anyone.

She probably sobered up enough to understand the gravity of what she had done, and it knocked her way out.
