Photo Credit: Anne McHugh via Twitter (@aemchugh) The organizer of a story-time reading series in Boston said she had to cancel Sunday's planned event after Neo-Nazis protested outside.
Patty Bourrée, who hosts a biweekly Drag Queen Story Hour at the Seaport, decided it wasn't safe as many members of NSC-131 stood outside of The Paseo holding derogatory signs that denounced the event, reports said. A phalanx of Boston police officers stood in between them and the doors of the building, photos shows.
"I really hate that I cancelled a story hour today because two protest groups were present, but I can’t put myself (and the kids!) in a potentially violent situation especially when I don’t trust that the BPD will protect me in a worst case scenario," Bourrée tweeted.
She pledged to continue the series of book-readings regardless of the protests.
This is the second time in recent weeks that NCS-131 protested a Drag Queen Story Time event in the city. Police arrested several members of the group, including the group's founder Chris Hood, when they clashed with counter protesters outside of the Loring Greenough House in Jamaica Plain on July 23.
Members held signs and a large banner that called the organizers of the event "pedo scum" and told them to get out of the neighborhood.
These protests are part of whatofficials say is a recent rise in white supremacist groups in Boston. NSC-131 marched along the Freedom Trail in Boston on July 4 along with other white nationalist groups, reports at the time said. Vandals also spray-painted hate speech on an LGBTQ nonprofit on July 9.
We currently won’t even deport illegal aliens.
The left does not know the meaning of the word, do they
Can’t say I particularly care for Neo Nazis, but I can’t blame anyone for protesting groomer events.
Left-Wing plants.
OH NOES! “MVEs”!!!!!!
Huh. So holding up signs outside an event is now violence. Ya learn something everyday.
Holding signs is dangerous for kids...but not drag fags?
Here we are. Political movements can make for some very strange, and temporary alliances. No doubt there is more weirdness to come.
Is there some way that both groups can destroy each other? And can they please keep the rest of us out of splatter range?
Boston is not a hotbed of right wing activity. I suspect this stuff is just being ramped up to get all the liberals outraged and active.

Just looked up what “NSC” means. It’s National SOCIALIST Club.
They are going to wear that term out so bad it will lose any meaning whatsoever if, indeed, it hasn't already.
The NEO-NAZIs are left-wing actors, just like Charlottesville. They are trying to create the perception that people against LGBTQI indoctrination of our children are NAZIs. Perhaps they should read the Pink Swastika, by Scott Lively
Just like Westboro Baptist Church, all Psy-Ops.
Oh no…not the drag queen story hour
Yes, as in: "Only Nazis could possibly oppose such an enriching learning experience for children."
It’s called “Wagging the Dog” and we had better get used to it, and call it out as such. It will be so deep by November that no one will know the truth, nor which way is up.
