NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Andy Ogles, a far-right county mayor, won Tennessee’s crowded Republican primary on Thursday in a reconfigured congressional district in left-leaning Nashville that the party is hoping to flip in November. In a warning ahead of the general election, he said, “Liberals, we’re coming for you.”

Ogles, the Maury County mayor and onetime leader of the Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity’s state chapter, emerged among nine candidates after a hard-fought primary for the state’s 5th Congressional District. The seat drew heavy interest from Republicans after GOP state lawmakers carved Nashville into three districts, leading incumbent Democratic Rep. Jim Cooper to announce his retirement.

“We’re at war. This is a political war, a cultural war, and it’s a spiritual war,” Ogles said in his victory speech. “And as we go forward, we’ve got to get back to honoring God and country.”

Ogles will face Democratic state Sen. Heidi Campbell in November. The new district favored Donald Trump over Joe Biden by 12 percentage points in 2020.

Ogles scored Republican Sen. Ted Cruz’s endorsement and overcame a fundraising advantage from his top opponents, former Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell and retired Tennessee National Guard Brig. Gen. Kurt Winstead. He also benefited the most from third-party groups, which ran TV ads touting his opposition to COVID-19 mandates and dragging down his opponents as insufficiently conservative.

Ogles described the GOP primary as “establishment versus the conservative wing of the party,” saying voters were getting a “true conservative” in his nomination. He didn’t shy from inflammatory comments during his victory speech, calling for the impeachment of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as treason charges against the Department of Homeland Security secretary over the administration’s handling of immigration issues.

Democrat candidates are never described as “Far Left”. by MSM.
On Republican Candidates that are Conservative are described as
“Far Right”.
We should gain this seat and stuff it down the RATs and MSM throats.

And they never seem to get around to saying what position he has that makes him “far right”, as opposed to “conservative”.

He probably understands the purpose of the 2nd Amendment or something.

“Far Right” is just their way of saying “Real American Patriot”.

” Far-right “.

Translation. Not in the squishy mainstream, which has given us rampant inflation, ruined domestic energy production, allowed rampant urban crime, wide-open borders, and international war proliferation.

That’s the northeast media meaning of “ far right “.

What the fools in the media are too stupid to understand is this: Only the "Far-right" can save America from destruction.

That's a excellent reason to support the "Far-right" unless, of course, one wants America to be destroyed.

in left-leaning Nashville

I graduated college in Nashville. It's tragic what it has become. A microcosm of the disaster known as the USA.

The Democrats in Nashville are destroying the city with “woke” and “PC” policies. The Democrat leadership in the city are selling off properties to their cronies. It is highly corrupt since the leadership went almost entirely Democrat.

I graduated high school in Nashville. Migrations and decadence have destroyed the old Nashville culture and it really had one. Yankees poured in, Californians poured in, Chinese poured in, Latinos poured in, and it ceased to be Nashville. The Nolensville road strip is now dominated by signs in Spanish. Neighborhood high schools that had a sense of community and spirit, like Cohn, Cameron, and West End (which still had a rod and gun club in 1968) were closed down. The social engineers gained control of the schools. The population boom gave Nashville traffic problems rivaling Atlanta’s. Suburban sprawl wiped out much of the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

Why is it always far-right and never far-left?

Google the phrase “far left” and it is *never* the news article itself using those words, it is only ever seen in rare quotes from some other person mentioned in a story.
