Beyond Meat Cuts Revenue Forecast, Jobs as Plant-Based Boom Fizzles Out

(Reuters) -Beyond Meat Inc lowered its forecast for 2022 revenue on Thursday and said it would cut several jobs at a time when demand for its plant-based products is fizzling out in the United States.
Analysts have said alternative meat makers should improve their products' taste to attract consumers as a few restaurants including McDonald's Corp have ended U.S. tests of their plant-based menu items without confirming a broader launch.
"The company is announcing a reduction-in-force affecting approximately 4% of its global workforce," Beyond Meat said in a statement.

My friends daughter (a ChemE grad from Purdue) works for one of these fake meat startups. They have a lot of dough from venture cap. I told her it will probably blow up, but it’s paying good money right now.

You can’t make sticks and twigs be anything more than sticks and twigs.
It ain’t and never will be “meat”, no matter how gussied up you make it. IOW, don’t pee on my leg and tell me its raining.
That means if you want to sell a veggie product and call it a veggie product, there are some that are sucessfull.

I have complained to the meat guy, as well as the management of every store who sell this stuff in the meat section.
I could care less if they try to sell it, It just does not belong anywhere near real meat.
Just like Fake Females should classified the same as natural females.
