The Spokane Police Department is investigating the circumstances that led to a man arriving at a local hospital with severe burns while still on fire.
The police department responded Monday to a report that a man had been dropped off at an emergency room at a Spokane hospital while still on fire, and that his clothes were covered in a flammable substance, according to a news release from the department. The incident that led to the man being on fire occurred in a neighborhood in northeast Spokane near the Esmeralda Golf Course.
The man sustained serious burns on 30% of his body and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for further care. Police department spokeswoman Julie Humphreys said Tuesday afternoon that the man was alive as of Monday and that she could not disclose more information regarding his condition.

Or Freebasing..... Remember Richard Pryor?
My understanding is once the skin burns off it also burn all the nerves off.
Back in the late 90’s there was a huge pipeline explosion in Bellingham Washington. It had been leaking gasoline into the river. 2 young boys were playing by the river when it exploded. The boys were completely fried and had no skin left. They were not in any pain because their skin was gone. They died talking to their parents as if nothing had happened to them.
I’m a Spokane woman and never had a burn worse than a sunburn in Acapulco. Even that hurt like hell.
At a hospital where I worked at there was a sign at the ER entrance that stated if you have sustained chemical burns or are currently soaked in chemicals to press this button for assistance and to not enter the building. Somehow I think a person is not going to read that sign in that situation.
That could very well be. Could be ICS... Internal combustion syndrome
Horrible.
Ok, now you’ve got to tell us how that happened.😲
Nothing much to report. The pavement was notoriously uneven on campus so as I walked around I was in the habit of looking down so I didn’t trip. Meanwhile the L bracket on the back of the stop sign just above where I was walking was not in my peripheral vision (I’m 6’4” so it normally would have been high enough)....
Cut a 2” gash in the top of my head. Even though stitched up within minutes it will still will scab up after all these years.
