Eh...I love the people I work with, they treat me with such deference and respect, besides being genuinely hard working and fun people. I made the choice to continue working until we finish two major projects, which could take up to two years the way things are going now.

There is a lot behind it that I am sacrificing myself for, specifically mandatory virus-inoculation related (in a medical environment) but I made that promise and will stick to it. Perhaps to my detriment, but I have lived a long and wonderful life. If it kills me, so be it. I gave my word.

When I was 7 years old, I saved up a bunch of Froot Loops box tops and sent them it to get a free stuffed Toucan...

It took three months to arrive, and when it did, it was the most pathetic, useless stuffed Toucan! I was so disillusioned! Heh, I checked that mail box EVERY SINGLE DAY!

I saved Bazooka Joe comics to get a free set of "walkie-talkies". I waited two months, and got two aluminum popsicle shaped things and a string, literally.

My best friend's 6' Frankenstein from the Johnson-Smith Company (comic book back covers) was a glow in the dark poster.

Billy Carsten's X-Ray Specs didn't do anything.

Childhood disappointments.

They are a huge amount of fun to watch...more so than any other bird, even crows, IMO. Very entertaining!.

They show a lot of body language, so much so you can nearly see thought bubbles above their heads!

Heh, I have one that screeches at me if I don't throw peanuts because I am, well...working! But I have a few others that get my attention with a really nice little melodious sound.

I even have one that does "begging" which is generally done between mated pairs, or between juveniles and parents. I have one that looks at me, opens its beak, and flutters its wings at me!

That said...I had a vivid imagination-I would STILL have enjoyed it! That actually would have been cool, but it would have turned into mush the first time I left it outside and it got damp!

Maybe they’ll have their moment of clarity and the stupid vaccinations will cease to be an issue. I have a friend in the medical field who was going to be let go, but she produced a religious exemption and is still working. Her exemption wasn’t a lie.

I hope you have lots of blue jay friends at your house that will entertain you like the ones at work have. Who knew they had such varied personalities!

Ah...one hopes. I have lost all respect for an organization I once loved.

But I am at peace with it now. I was a complete wreck for about six months when they mandated it, and I had until a certain date. I had to keep the coverage for my wife. I agonized over it, lost sleep. I was pretty angry.

But I am going to live my life, whatever part of it is left to me. And who knows what that is!

From now on do what YOU want to do and what your wife wants. And no one else. That’s what I love about retirement.

We had a great visit albeit a little warm yesterday. We will do an early trip today because we are under a Heat Advisory.

Gizmo looks like he had a great time even though it was pretty warm. Maybe splashing in the water kept him from overheating.

Under another heat advisory? Drat. I know you two are ready to get past all that once and for all. Takes some of the fun out of the day. Maybe this one won’t last too long.
