The Purpling of Massachusetts
Boston Magazine ^ | July 26, 2022 | Jon Keller

Posted on 07/30/2022 5:33:23 AM PDT by DoodleBob

.. Yet Massachusetts political elites should instead see (These stories of alienation and angst) as a flashing neon warning sign that our ultra-blue political culture is bleeding purple at the grassroots—a slow-but-steady drip, drip, drip that seems likely to be accelerated by fallout from the pandemic and economic pressures....And in a state with only 460,000 registered Republicans, Donald Trump won more than a million votes—twice.

...

There’s also been backlash among parents against long-standing efforts to bring sexual health education to public schools, a topic that began bubbling up again after Boston and Worcester adopted new curricula last year. Mayra Diaz of Charlestown, a Democrat who runs the immigrant support group Manos Unidas Saliendo Adelante (“United Hands Going Forward”), says she was left angry and frustrated by the cold shoulder that Charlestown High School officials gave her when she sought details of the sex education her daughter was receiving there. “Parents are excluded from information because the students have rights, so they don’t tell me anything,” she says. “They don’t know how to work together, and they don’t care anything about the parents.”

...

Beyond school-related issues, there’s also the question of support for Israel...in an era of increasingly aggressive anti-Israel rhetoric from the left and a surge in anti-Semitic attacks in Massachusetts, Rausch finds herself “outwardly attacked,” she says, by “former supporters” for her qualified backing of the Jewish state.

Case in point: When a shadowy left-wing group recently posted an interactive online map highlighting the addresses of Jewish institutions and others deemed sympathetic toward Israel “so we can dismantle them,” the site said, Rausch was appalled that people she had worked with and considered friends didn’t share her horror.

Massachusetts was one of two states where all counties went for Hillary and Bidet (Hawaii is the other). If MA goes purple, it's a big deal.

I live in MA. And one of the big steps was getting Jim Lyons as party chair. Before it was a moderate pantywaist.

And of course, before they would never run good candidates or get a candidate in as many races as they could. They would just say “we can’t beat a democrat in that district so why bother recruiting candidates for it.”

As a result we have 3 Republican in the state senate out of 40.

Jim Lyons is the opposite, encouraging people to run.

And once the miserable puke Charlie Baker is gone, it’ll be so much the better.

Only so far as religion goes. Otherwise they were totalitarian and, at least in the beginning, quite communist.

And once the miserable puke Charlie Baker is gone, it'll be so much the better.

May I remind you of two recent quotes from that filthy bull dyke,Maura Healy?

1) When asked what advice she had for women and girls who don't like the idea of finding males in the Ladies' Room she said "hold it".

2) During the Rat Party's "Summer of Love" (2020) she said in a speech "Yes,America is in flames...but that's how forests grow".

Things can get a *lot* worse here...and very likely will. And soon!

Cantankerous?

No, Massachusetts is a loyalist state. The loyalty is to the Queen and the superiority of England

Mass has always been a cantankerous state...

Massachusetts, like many states, has a slogan on its license plates. New York has "Empire State". New Jersey has "Garden State".Kalifornia has "Golden State".

Massachusetts plates have "The Spirit of America". There was surely a time when that was true. But today it's a lot more like "The Spirit of Venezuela" (or North Korea).

It’s what they do.

My business takes me to MA often. Yes, the libs there have drunk the kool aide. And while many MA people don't love Trump, the conservatives are more Deplorable than the NJ "conservatives" to whom I'm accustomed. The NJ lot are more NeverTrumper. I see lots of signs of Trump love in MA - I NEVER see that in NJ.

In fact, when Scott Brown won the late Senator Chappaquiddick's seat, it seems like the result of a Kennedy machine that had fixed elections all those years, no longer fixing things. At some point, if it's all a façade, there could be a switch. From this article, it's not the MAGA people moving from NH making it purple, it's the covid govt insanity making people swing right.

MA seems like a second-tier Dem mean girl. They want to be in the popular crowd like NY, but they never get the A-list socialists like Cuomo, Clinton, DeBlasio, Bloomberg, etc. Boston adopted the same vaccine insanity that. NYC did, but they didn't get any of the airtime that NY got.
