Jared Kushner Alleges John Kelly ‘Shoved’ Ivanka Trump After a Meeting, Calls Him ‘Jekyll and Hyde’

Jared Kushner alleges in his new memoir former Trump White House chief of staff John Kelly “shoved” his wife and the former president’s daughter Ivanka Trump following a contentious meeting.

“One day he had just marched out of a contentious meeting in the Oval Office,” Kushner claims in the book. “Ivanka was walking down the main hallway in the West Wing when she passed him. Unaware of his heated state of mind, she said, ‘Hello, chief.’ Kelly shoved her out of the way and stormed by. She wasn’t hurt, and didn’t make a big deal about the altercation, but in his rage Kelly had shown his true character.”

Kushner also writes Kelly visited Ivanka an hour later in her room and offered an apology that was accepted. Kushner described the apology as “meek.”

Kelly, who was contacted by the Post about the allegation, vehemently denied it.

“I don’t recall anything like you describe,” Kelly told the paper.

He added, “It is inconceivable that I would EVER shove a woman. Inconceivable. Never happen… Would never intentionally do something like that. Also, don’t remember ever apologizing to her for something I didn’t do. I’d remember that.”

Kelly served as Trump’s chief of staff from 2017 to 2019.

Parsing Kelly's non-denial denial:

“It is inconceivable that I would EVER shove a woman. Inconceivable. Never happen

True, except no denial that shoving a woman, however inconceivable, is still shoving a woman.

Would never intentionally do something like that.

True, except no denial of unintentionally shoving her

Also, don’t remember ever apologizing to her for something I didn’t do. I’d remember that.

True, except doesn't deny apologizing to her for something he did.

Isn’t it amazing the words used/chosen to deny yet not purger himself?
This is why republicans are dolts, and get used and abused, because we’re plain spoken. We don’t twist words typically.
Liberals are lying twisting snakes

Kelly served as Trump’s chief of staff from 2017 to 2019.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And spent all of his time subverting Trump, keeping the border open and the laws unenforced like a good Bush Leaguer.
Ahithophel - good points.
BTW, If a woman were about to get hit by a car, I would shove her out of the way if I could, and that would be the correct action. I assume most men would do so.
Who cares, I don’t and I won’t be buying the book. I’d prefer that Kushner would just go away.
Choices? Like all of his AG’s. You do realize in politcs, there are strings attached. Bannon pretty much interviewed everyone from the Trump regime and the dirty just keeps coming out. This ain’t no ordinary job.
Did you know that McConnell actually threatened Trump that he wouldn’t get his border wall if he didnt have Jeff Sessions as AG? THis is not like hiring from LinkedIn. Easy peasy for you sitting behind the screen but in politics DC, there’s always a catch. Trump learned this the hard way.
Actually, because of Trump’s lack of knowledge regarding the DC political landscape, I have always believed Mike Pence was instrumental in “seeding” Trumps WH with enemies. If we recall, one of Pence’s first moves was to get rid of Michael Flynn. If Flynn would have remained, we would have seen an entirely different outcome.
“Jared Kushner alleges that former president Donald Trump’s second chief of staff, John F. Kelly, was viewed within the White House as a bully with a “Jekyll-and-Hyde” demeanor who once shoved his wife, Ivanka Trump, out of his way after a volatile Oval Office meeting.”
A man pushed Ivanka and then Jared did what? Nothing I guess. I can believe that, but what did Donald Trump do? If Trump found out about it they would be dragging a bloodied Kelly out of the White House.
In February 2018, The New York Times reported that Kelly had been in a physical confrontation with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. According to anonymous sources, Kelly had a heated argument with Lewandoski in which he accused him of profiting off Trump's presidency. This led to Kelly grabbing Lewandowski by the collar and pushing him up against the wall just outside the Oval Office. The sources said Lewandowski did not respond physically to Kelly, and when Secret Service agents arrived, Lewandowski and Kelly went their separate ways.
Kelly was a jerk, but like everybody else, Kelly (and I suppose Kushner) is a mix of good and bad qualities. If you can't get rid of or lessen your bad qualities, find a job that lets you use them in a positive way and don't aspire to a position where they become harmful.
I really don’t care what Kushner is throwing out there to sell his book.
My only observation would be that neither Kushner, his wife, nor Kelly should have been in the White House.
