Those aren’t forecasters.

They’re propagandists.

And Government Sachs won’t fire them unless they can find better and/or cheaper people willing to lie for Deep State.

And if we no longer have an honest press to report the truth, we will not live through that either.

Well then, order more MREs, because we are so screwed.

I hope they sue the View for their recent comments defaming those high school conservatives as Nazis! They were ordered to cease and desist and did have to issue an apology which was predictably lame. Sue their large asses off!

Inflation, if tallied the way it was in 1979, has been pushing 20%. 99.9% of people today will tell you inflation is about as bad as it was with Carter. In reality we have had a rate of inflation that is 50% higher than Carter was ever responsible for. I think the DC double talkers did a masterful job on that one. Unemployment went through the same process. DC politicians are wicked liars, ALL media carry their water and the American voter is generally as stupid as you can find. You watch, “recession” will soon be something very different than what we’ve known it to be.

I wonder if there has ever been a time where there were two consecutive quarters of GDP decline that the NBER did NOT deem a recession?

Yes true, but Carter was naive not maliciously trying to burn the country for personal gain.

Wait until they correct the decrease.....
That way when it’s corrected later, they can show an increase.

I wish the above was just a joke, but the ministry of propaganda can’t resist.

You've ingested the NY Times' deployment of the oldest trick in the book: expanding the y-axis to magnify the extremes and thus minimize the strong central tendency. Also, this is QoQ percentage GDP changes, not per capital GDP. Go to the St Louis FRED site and you'll see a strong long run trend. Parenthetically, I thought the books were cooked...

You don't have to believe me. But are you suggesting that the tens of millions of homeowners, trillions in retirement funds, and countless daily services from hotel clerks to coffee baristas to oil and gas men to people going to bars and clubs and concerts and museums, is CGI?

It’s the “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022”.
HOW TO PAY FOR ALL OF THIS?

The biggest revenue-raiser in the bill is a new 15% minimum tax on corporations that earn more than $1 billion in annual profits.

It’s a way to clamp down on some 200 U.S. companies that avoid paying the standard 21% corporate tax rate, including some that end up paying no taxes at all.

The new corporate minimum tax would kick in after the 2022 tax year and raise some $313 billion over the decade.

Money is also raised by boosting the IRS to go after tax cheats. The bill proposes an $80 billion investment in taxpayer services, enforcement and modernization, which is projected to raise $203 billion in new revenue — a net gain of $124 billion over the decade.

The bill sticks with President Biden’s original pledge not to raise taxes on families or businesses making less than $400,000 a year.

The lower drug prices for seniors are paid for with savings from Medicare’s negotiations with the drug companies.

All those things that you’re saying are doing great are lagging indicators. All the leadings are down, way down.

It’s going to get much worse before it gets any better. It might help you feel better that the rest of the world isn’t doing much or any better, but it still sucks. You come off very aloof and out of touch with this sunshine and roses talk.

It is now confirmed, we are in a recession that Biden and the Democrats created all on their own.
