Ukraine has long been considered the most corrupt nation in Europe, and was widely recognized as such by American media outlets – right up until Russia invaded and suddenly Ukraine had to be “reimagined” as a paragon of democracy and a plucky underdog in the fight for freedom. Now that the Ukrainians appear likely to lose the war, however, mainstream outlets like NPR are rediscovering Ukraine’s rank corruption and reporting the truth again – but unfortunately too late to stop the tens of billions of dollars in military aid that’s been shipped off.

I agree with Reagan, Vietnam was a Noble Cause. We were in a death struggle with an expansionist Communist government, and if we didn’t hold other countries they would.
But we also RIGHTLY left Czechoslovakia and Hungary alone when the Soviets moved in to overthrow their governments...otherwise it would have been WW3.
Ukraine is NOT our business and Russia is not expansionist - for if they were, they would NOT have waited 24 years before doing anything there (from 1990 to 2014). But Russia WILL look out for its own interests, which is something that many Americans cannot seem to grasp (understandable, though, given our stupidity in the past).

Agree, most in the Russian leadership would have disposed of Ukraine in 2014, rather than give the Neocons 8 years to massively build up their military. Probably Putin’s hesitancy will go down as his biggest mistake in office.

It’s sad to say, but America may be equally corrupt. When we have honest elections, a two-party press, pharmaceuticals no longer owning the medical establishment, and doctors and pharmacists free to prescribe HCQ or Ivermectin, then we may be back to the America that I mistakenly believed we were.
And the January 6 prisoners are there for failure to demonstrate loyalty to the deep state and Democratic Party.

What? This is ridiculous. Go read some history. Roosevelt, for one, was eager to fight Germany but the popular support was not there.
