I've been around for over seventy years on this fine planet, and even since a young dude, I recall weather extremes.
From droughts to floods no snow in the Sierra range (the year following the winter olympics), to massive tornado outbreaks, record cold here record heat there, cyclones, invasion of species, dying of species.
Weather is not climate and the average is not normal, it's the average.
