The man who drunkenly attacked the Republican candidate for governor in New York was photographed being taken into custody by FBI, state and county police Saturday on federal assault charges, after being immediately released following the attack under the state's bail reform laws.
David Jakubonis, 43, an Army veteran, was arrested after allegedly attacking Zeldin with a $10 cat keyring weapon at the congressman's Thursday campaign rally for state governor, outside of Rochester, New York. He was released hours later.
But on Saturday, DailyMail.com cameras saw Jakubonis taken into custody by FBI, New York State police and deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
A six-car motorcade pulled into Jakubonis' apartment complex a little before noon on Saturday and left with Jakubonis in custody 15 minutes later.
He's set to make his first appearance in court Saturday afternoon in front of US Magistrate Judge Marion W. Payson.
A spokesperson for the US Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York confirmed the details to DailyMail.com.

Zeldin is a U.S. Representative. There is a Federal law against assaulting members of Congress.
Looks like they put real handcuffs on this guy. I guess he didn’t get the AOC treatment.
Or a means to keep a lid on the guy so nobody can talk to him.
Didn't the governor of New York effectively incite the kind of attack on Zeldin that took place?

They don’t mention that he was asked to leave and shown the door for medical reasons. He has no amputation. Is able to attack an enemy physically.
So, they should be out with the information and at least not call him an army vet as if he would still be serving with honor if he wanted to and can at the same time attempt to murder a duly elected congressman

After seeing pics of this device, I am convinced it was sharp enough to have slit Zelden’s throat and caused him to bleed out too quickly to survive.
Oh I don’t know. Back when I was in college (long time ago), a campus area rapist broke into a friend’s apartment. She was maybe 105 lbs soaking wet. What he didn’t know was she was also a retired Marine who’d seen combat (in technically a non-combat role). She was deceptively strong to boot. Let’s just say when I got over to her place immediately after she called me and the cops, two things were apparent: (1) she was a bit shook up, and (2) all the blood spattered everywhere wasn’t hers. Bastard ended up in the hospital then a nice long stint in jail. Probably still there.
Her weapon: one of those cat keychains. And yeah she could have killed him with it. Easily.
