Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) announced on Tuesday that he will not support President Biden’s nominee to be a federal prosecutor in Wisconsin over tweets she posted that Johnson said show she is a “political partisan.”
Johnson said he would not support Sopen Shah, Biden’s choice to become U.S. attorney for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, as a result of now-deleted tweets in which Shah commented on the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, and voiced criticism of Johnson.
“The reason we have a two-tiered system is because our justice system is increasingly populated with political partisans who are incapable of administering justice equally,” Johnson said. “Through tweets that she has now deleted, Ms. Sopen Shah demonstrated she would be yet another political partisan within our justice system. As a result, I will not support her nomination.”
Shah tweeted on the day of the insurrection “THIS IS TERRORISM” in response to reports of someone being shot inside the Capitol, according to an archive of her post.
She tweeted the next day that Wisconsin “will teach [Johnson] a thing or two about accountability in 2022” after Johnson said those who objected to the 2020 presidential election results and Trump did not bear responsibility for the attack, according to another archive.

The Hill is using the liable laden term “insurrection” in an ostensibly straight news story about political bias. Pretty ironic.
Thank you Senator Johnson for voicing this out loud and acting accordingly. You are speaking what many are feeling these days.
I’ll take a “U”
Even though there hasn’t been anybody convicted of insurrection and they haven’t proved insurrection, and still “insurrection” is being used as an absolute.
At the same time, with insurmountable evidence showing the the Obama administration and officials spied on the Trump campaign and administration, at most it is referred to as “alleged spying” or it was completely denounced as “debunked.”
And, unfortunately, this is the case with the vast majority of news outlets.
Good for Ron, but plenty of Bush League Republicans will vote to approve whoever the senile pretender nominates.
They have so far.
She has good academic credentials, but no experience to speak of and only one publication. I’m sure there are dozens of lawyers with more impressive vitae that she has. Other than her obvious political stance, there’s little for Biden to use as an argument for her appointment.
He doesn’t need an argument with Senators like Flimsey Grahamnesty who has professed his love for him and voted for almost all of his nominees.
More like Les Misérables.
These protesters need to SUE THE MEDIA like the Covington kid did!!!
They can’t call these people terrorists and insurrectionists unless they are convicted of those acts!
SUE these bastards in the MSM. It’s the only way to bring the MSM to heel.
the word you mean is “libel”?
Libelous? Like what the media did to the Covington kid?
Yeah, your write in you’re comment. Was trying sew hard not two make that kind of mistake to.
A president appointing a U.S. attorney who is a political partisan? What is this world coming to. </sarcasm>
I appreciate Ron’s stand on this nomination. But this goes much deeper. This nominee has proven she is a partisan hack even without the deleted tweets...
But where was this backbone when the most recent appointee to the ATF was approved? Now that is a major high-level political hack that has zero business being in any position of authority...
The Putin/Xi/Ali/Clinton/Obama satanic world order puppet Biden needs this anti-Ameeican leftist appointment as insurance, in the event all the redundant election fraud systems aren’t enough in November.
Welcome to the party pal! He seems to be a bit slow on the uptake.
What, she’s been a lawyer for 5 or 6 years?
