LONDON, July 17 (Reuters) - The Ukraine war shows that the West's dominance is coming to an end as China rises to superpower status in partnership with Russia at one of the most significant inflection points in centuries, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said.
The world, Blair said, was at a turning point in history comparable with the end of World War Two or the collapse of the Soviet Union: but this time the West is clearly not in the ascendant.
"We are coming to the end of Western political and economic dominance," Blair said in a lecture entitled "After Ukraine, What Lessons Now for Western Leadership?" according to a text of the speech to a forum supporting the alliance between the United States and Europe at Ditchley Park west of London.
"The world is going to be at least bi-polar and possibly multi-polar," Blair said. "The biggest geo-political change of this century will come from China not Russia."

Great job Brandon and NATO. The Ukraine debacle seems like it is going to make our being run out of Afghanistan look like nothing.
I wouldn’t expect BRICS to be mentioned in a Rooters article, however it should be prominent.
40+ billion is just a number on paper. BRICS, now comprising a good portion of the world’s population (Brazil/Russia/India/China/SouthAfrica) and GDP, is shedding the petro-reserve-dollar and moving towards precious-metals backed currencies.
When the FED/dollar fails, and it will, whether the US joins BRICS or not, the US will also move to a PM-backed new currency. When this occurs, Ukraine will fade to being a skirmish.
I view NESARA as the plan that will be engaged to facilitate a US version of joining BRICS.
A large lesson of the Ukraine/Russia war is the great risk of our interdependence with dictatorial/totalitarian/communist regimes like Russia (in the case of Europe’s energy dependence) and China. Countries cannot embargo/sanction these aggressive entities as punishment without incurring self-inflicted economic harm. We need to completely economically detach ourselves from China.
With the crop of the West’s leaders, is it any wonder?
NATO’s expansion has consequences.
Thanks to the Clint0n/0bana/Brandon evil clown show.
Interesting
Good points.
We should detach from China.
Yes it does
Only “President Biden” (meaning his unknown teleprompter writers) could have been so incompetent and/or sabotage-minded that they have successfully managed to:
1. Drive Russia and China together as a military alliance. [Keeping Russia and China divided has been a top U.S. strategic imperative since the 1950s.]
2. Drive both Saudi Arabia AND Iran [otherwise enemies] to request to join the BRICS [Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa] economic and currency zone. {The U.S. Dollar as the world reserve currency aka the petrodollar? Gone with the wind.}
3. Drive Russia, Iran and India together, to create the the International North-South Transport Corridor, short-cutting the Suez Canal and making the EU irrelevant to trade.
Way to go, Team Biden!!
The International North-South Transport Corridor:
“The duration of the journey is less than 25 days, as opposed to the approximately 40 days it now takes to move cargo from Russia to India through the Baltic Sea – North Sea – Mediterranean Sea – Suez Canal – Red Sea -Arabian Sea route.”
Russia has started using an alternate route to ship goods to India, through Caspian Sea and Iran, bypassing the Mediterranean Sea – Suez Canal route. Russia dispatched a test cargo to India from St. Petersburg via Iran o Saturday, operationalising the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC). According to Russia Briefing, Iran’s state-owned shipping firm has announced the first transit of Russian products to India via the INSTC.
Economic Times, quoting Dariush Jamali, director of a joint-owned Iranian-Russian terminal in Astrakhan, reported that goods originating in St. Petersburg are on their way to Russian city Astrakhan, which is the Caspian port city located on the delta of Volga river. In Astrakhan, the cargo will be reloaded at the Solyanka Port in the city. They will then go across the Caspian Sea to Iran’s Anzali Port, where they will be carried by road through Iran to the port city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran. The goods will again be loaded onto ships at the Iranian port, and from there the goods will be delivered to India’s largest container port in Navi Mumbai.
Two 40-foot (12.192-meter) containers of wood laminate sheets totalling 41 tonnes were included in the test shipment. The duration of the journey is less than 25 days, as opposed to the approximately 40 days it now takes to move cargo from Russia to India through the Baltic Sea – North Sea – Mediterranean Sea – Suez Canal – Red Sea -Arabian Sea route. Aside from shortening the time it takes for transport between India and Russia, INSTC is seen as a feasible alternative for Indo-Russian trade in the face of present international issues. The journey time will shorten even more after a rail route Iran is constructing is completed.
Yep.
These morons have been running free in Ukraine for a long time. Victoria Nuland and that gang.
At some point, the bill comes due.
Total embarrassing incompetence and rot.
Be real...Look at any tag in your local stores.
Globalization was a direct product of Leftist liberalism rooted in the Liberalism paradigm via the study of International Relations.
Globalization is a catch trap. One of its dictates was that globalization would reduce wars and conflicts because everyone would be dependent upon each other via economic dependence and interdependence. Again, it’s a catch trap.
When was the first time a country/nation was barred or removed from the world’s financial system? Russia when it invaded Ukraine. Germany under Hitler during WWII? Nope. I could go on. It’s a system destined to implode upon itself and Russia, China, etc. have come to that realization and are separating themselves from a Western dominated world financial system. Bet.
You are delusional in regards to detachment; why can’t you just try to get along you are not always right Ukraine is a perfect example you have to consider all sides.
Of course not. The lesson is that you shouldn’t stick your nose into other people’s business. If you do, you should expect a kick in the face.
The West is in the process of committing suicide. As the West radically reduces its capability to produce food and energy, the BRICS bloc adds more producers of the same. Iran and Argentina will be the newest members. The decadent West is no longer a “as a city upon hill”. Today the West exports corruption, climate change lies, cancel culture and proselytizes perversions. The Arab oil producing states fear and despise this and will soon join the BRICS bloc as well.

THE FIRST CONFIRMED DESTRUCTION OF HIMARS (Video on site)
I knew yesterday that the crew of the MLRS and the machines of the complex were destroyed, I was waiting for a video confirmation. As a result of the strike with high-precision weapons, Ukraine lost 1 HIMARS complex. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Western military advisers are now banking on this weapon system. They hit the rear to a depth of 120 km. HIMARS was killed in the DPR, in Krasnoarmeysk.
Here I will add that usually these systems are accompanied by Western instructors and combat guards.
I think that soon the Kyiv regime will lose all the MLRS that are coming from across the ocean.

China is beset with terminal internal turmoil on a vast scale. Russia will win the separatist territories but is getting unrecoverably ill
Neither China nor Russia will be real players within the next year
Things definitely seem to look brighter at the moment for the BRICS nations than their counterparts.
Someone mentioned the Saudis joining BRICS. Not only have they gotten Brandon to look ridiculous (Biden trip; MBS fist bump) following his “pariah” statements, the Saudis now pretty much can toy with the USA (which they are doing) because the USA desperately needs their oil while the Ukraine conflict rages on.
The USA “elites” are a joke. It is a shame to see what has happened here, but I can’t say it isn’t well-deserved.
We need many more decades of Trump-like leaders to restore things to where they need to be for the USA.
Well we will see. I’m skeptical of those assertions and not hopeful that some kind of “Ghost Of Kiev” figure is going to emerge to magically shoot down the fortunes of Russia, China or their allies.
Time will tell.
