Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, a Republican, said this week that his office will investigate the doctor who provided an abortion to a 10-year-old rape victim from Ohio.
In an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters this week, Rokita said his office will investigate Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an OB/GYN in Indianapolis who told the Indy Star in a story published on July 1 that she provided care to a 10-year-old patient who was six weeks and three days pregnant. Bernard was connected to the patient after receiving a call from a child abuse doctor in Ohio. Allegedly, Ohio’s pro-life laws hindered her options in the state.
“We have this abortion activist acting as a doctor with a history of failing to report,” Rokita said. “So, we’re gathering the evidence as we speak, and we’re going to fight this to the end, including looking at her [Bernard’s] licensure if she failed to report. In Indiana it’s a crime…to intentionally not report.”
As Townhall has been following, The Columbus Dispatch reported Wednesday that 27-year-old Gerson Fuentes is charged with impregnating the 10-year-old Ohio girl who crossed state lines for an abortion (via The Columbus Dispatch):

Guess parts of branDUHn's story about the 10 yr old have some veracity. Will he let us know the rapist may have been an illegal alien? Stay tuned.
You can take my post on this down please.
But she did report it....
to the dirtbag media. HIPPA Laws...
The article is very unclear about it, it I’m concluding the reporting should have been of the rape of the 10-year old.
Yes, I did the math. 😂✌
What was your answer?
Yes. 😊🙌
But what I think Indiana is looking into isn't penalties for reporting without HIPPA blessing, but rather for failure to follow the states mandatory reporting rules. All, or at least most, states have groups of people whom are by their law mandated to report certain things if they learn of them or even the possibility of them. Child abuse is high on those lists. Rape (which would statutorily include any sex between a child that you and an adult) would certainly be included. The mandatory reporter is not to do further investigating themselves, that's up to the state, but they must report. They can't be penalized for reporting, at least not if done in good faith, but they can be penalized for failure to report. Any wish of the patient to NOT be reported is irrelevant. Allegedly this abortion doctor has a track record of not reporting in the past.
Was immigration trying to hide it?
Is there a reason why someone would wait up to 6 weeks before having an abortion?
Uh I believe the child was six weeks preg. How they figured that is odd. Was she already having menses? Lots of questions. Rapist arrested.
This whole thing is about as dirty as scummy krap gets. Until I’m proved wrong I’m suspecting the young gal was being trafficked. Lots of societies think banging the young gals before they’re old enough to get pregnant is the cool way to go. At nine this girl would have been in that slot. Notice her Mom seems to have acknowleged the Guat banged her more than once. Why no call to the cops? Good old Mom called but six weeks later when it was obvious she was pregnant. And how did the Doc know the age of the pregnancy TO THE DAY? I’m betting this Doc will be found to be servicing the traffick trade?
And having to go out of state is a straw dog. The only obvious reason is to go to a friendly quack.
And by the way: how is the young gal doing? Has she been taken away from Mom? And who is shielding the illegal Guat and why? One of Bidum’s chosen ones?
The scum is deep in this case.
She properly reported it. And if parents are ok with the med information release, no HIPAA was broken.
