Twitter shares plunged Monday in the first day of trading since Elon Musk abandoned his $44 billion agreement to buy the company – and one tech industry analyst warned of a potentially disastrous long-term scenario for the embattled social media firm.
Twitter’s stock sank 11% as investors reacted to the exit.
Musk’s move that sets up a lengthy court battle likely to weigh on company shares for months or years to come and added to the challenges facing CEO Parag Agrawal, according to Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives.

If the people running Twitter were honest and transparent in the workings of the company instead of sneaky and corrupt, the sale would have already happened and this drama wouldn't be happening.
Jack’s magic coffee shop will never spill the real beans.
.....”If the people running Twitter were honest and transparent in the workings of the company instead of sneaky and corrupt”.....
They might have to reveal anyway if this goes to court.
THey will in discovery...lol
Good. F Twitter for what it did to Trump.
Twitter is reaping what they have sown.
Oh gee, all of this makes me so sad. LOL
I’m hoping things get bad enough to send all its leftist Indian imports back to India...
Last thing Twitter wants is to have to go to court and answer to discovery....
I would be BEYOND shocked if this ever actually gets into an actual courtroom.
If Twitter, knowing they have about a 1/3 or more of their users are fake... lets this actually see a public courtroom, the folks running it are dumber than even I think, and I think they are pretty dumb.
Yes. A court trial would open up Twitter to the discovery process by Musk's lawyers. If fraudulent data are discovered, that will definitely affect the purchase agreement.
At what point will shareholders demand that Parag Agrawal have his sorry ass shipped BACK TO INDIA????
Guess that Twitter’s orange-haired, snowflake censors are going to have to find REAL jobs.
Twitter is valued at 160/1 price/earnings. They don’t generate much revenue, and they are not profitable. Ipso facto, they are corrupt and don’t want to get caught, so they won’t give access to the real data. Perhaps Twitter is just an IC-owned asset.
Any company with a CEO with that name deserves to fail.
Twit up 2.56% to 33.48
Maybe I’m just old, but I never understood Twitter. It is a cesspool of hate. You could post a picture of a puppy or kitten and get a string of hate responses. And the ones that aren’t hate-filled are advertisers or bots. I’ll be glad if the whole thing goes bankrupt.
Twitter should be going to it’s market level. The market level is on them, they can’t blame Musk.
I love the smell of totalitarian left desperation in the morning.
I don't think it will get to court. I expect the SEC will come knocking because the opportunity for Government legalized extortion is rife. What remains to be seen is if that hefty SEC settlement will be anything more than headlines since I suspect that Twitter is actually a Government entity.
It is looking, more and more, as if Twitter is an organization captured by the corrupt intelligence agencies of the U.S. government. Twitter is, itself, a disinformation platform manipulating and censoring the American people.
Its mission appears to be wholesale fraud.
Elon Musk is wealthy enough to expose all of Twitter’s lies.
