It is because of people like you that want to totally control everyone else that the founding fathers gave us the 2nd amendment. The Constitution gives the Federal Government LIMITED POWER WITH THE MAJORITY OF POWER LIES WITH THE INDIVIDUAL STATES. The 2nd amendment is meant to ensure that it stays that way, The federal government has become the TYRANTS THAT THE FOUNDING FATHERS FEARED, The federal government should never have STOLEN POWER FROM THE STATES. Our country is in big trouble.

By all means, try to get a constitutional amendment passed. That is the right way to go about it.
Personally, I’ll oppose your crackpot proposed amendment with every fiber of my being and I don’t think it stands a snowball’s chance in hell of passing, but you’re welcome to try.

Here's my new amendment:
The right to keep and bear arms being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of Michael Moore to tweet shall forevermore be infringed.

They can’t even get to the point of starting the Amendment process and now they’re engaging in mental masturbatory fantasy.

Including the ones HIS private armed guard security uses? Have all our leaders be a good example and demonstrate how doing away with armed security works so well. Start with AOC.

Moore’s news amendment erases any talk of a right to “keep and bear arms,” positing, instead, an “inalienable right to be kept safe - by Father State, from whom all rights flow - from gun violence.”Regards,

How about car crashes? Can we have an amendment about being kept safe from car crashes? Where I live there’s a far better chance of getting t boned by a granny than getting shot by a gang banger.

Again, I wonder how much time he spends living in France or even Switzerland compared to the United States. Does he carry US or EUROS cash in his wallet (if he actually does carry cash)? Did he send his daughter to school in Europe or America?

Lardasses like MM want YOU to undergo a mental health exam, talk w/ your ex-spouses (how can *that* go wrong?) etc. etc. and put ammo under purview of CONgress.
Yeah, nah.

Agreed. There have always been totalitarians who use goverment to attack and hurt others. Moore is just one more example of this horrible kind of human.

Think! If only such visionaries had existed in the 20th century.
“inalienable right to be kept safe from gun violence”.
I mean, who knew it was so simple? Just a minor oversight, a clerical error.
Estimates vary, but it’s believed by historians that somewhere around 100 million people were killed by various totalitarian governments around the world in that century. With guns, mostly.
Not counting the wars, mind you. That’s another 35 to 50 million.

Now the Fat Boy needs 67 Senators, 292 Representatives and 38 States to sign off on his Amendment and he’s good to go. Oh and then there’s the whole going out and collecting them thing.

“inalienable right to be kept safe from gun violence.” I want an inalienable right to be kept safe from government violence. No? Well, then we need a 2nd Amendment.
