NATO in ‘Secret Consultations’ to end Ukraine Crisis
theinteldrop.com ^ | July 9, 2022

Russian and Ukrainian diplomats held four rounds of talks to try to resolve the crisis in February and March, but stopped meeting after Kiev pulled out of negotiations as US and European officials announced that the conflict must be decided on the battlefield, and sent tens of billions of dollars-worth of military hardware and economic aid to Kiev.

The United States and its European allies are conducting “secret consultations” aimed at ending the Ukrainian crisis, Germany’s Welt newspaper has indicated.

In an commentary published Friday, former US ambassador to Germany John Kornblum and German journalist Rudiger Lentz claimed that the secret talks are intended to find a way to provide Russia with a “face-saving exit” from the crisis. Moscow, they suggested, is waging a war of nerves with the US and its allies, and “counting on war weariness in the West and anti-Western sentiment in the rest of the world” for support.

Kornblum and Lentz cited former West German Chancellor Willy Brandt’s strategy of ‘Ostpolitik’ with East Germany and the Soviet Union as a “classic example” of a diplomatic solution, but said that this policy had only been made possible after decades of Cold War confrontation, including the proxy conflict in Vietnam. They recommended a Reagan-style ‘peace through strength’ approach of military and economic pressure to force “the aggressor” to the table, and suggested that Europe should start by regaining control of the narrative on the Ukraine crisis.

The authors did not elaborate on how the West could ‘regain control of the narrative’. Russian media including Sputnik, RT and others have already been blocked across the European Union, while Facebook and Twitter pay close attention to their platforms to ensure that a pro-Ukrainian, anti-Russian narrative prevails. At the same time, mainstream media outlets from across the political spectrum in the EU and the US continue to echo government talking points about “Vladimir Putin’s aggression” and Russia’s “unprovoked and unjustified war on Ukraine.”

I’m nearly certain Russia doesn’t need that.

But Ukraine and NATO are desperate for just that.

European countries are on the brink of devastation and political upheaval.

LOL. The GDP of the EU and Great Britain is $20 trillion dollars. They can squash Russia ($1 trillion GDP) like a bug and find other gas stations if they wish.

“They can squash Russia ($1 trillion GDP) like a bug and find other gas stations if they wish.”

WHEN?

HOW?

Are you saying they can seize Russian territory?

Are you saying they can defeat the Russian military in the field?

How do they counter Russian nukes?

And how do they accomplish any of that in Ukraine?

They don’t.

Russia will possess any part of Ukraine they wish.

Ukraine will never touch it again.

NATO will not intervene militarily.

European NATO countries will soon surrender to their political reality and look for a deal that Russia will accept. And any such deal will partition Ukraine, formally ceding what Russia has already taken.

And NATO/Ukraine will announce Ukraine will never be in NATO and NATO troops/forces will never be in Ukraine.

Because NOBODY in the west is willing to engage a military with 7,000 nukes to force them to do anything.

Nobody.

That's impossible. All the strength is on the Russia side. There is, justifiably, no support from the American people to get involved militarily. Ukraine is losing, by its own admission, a 1000 troops a day.

It's just another example of doubling down on failure.

Maybe NATO has been keeping it a secret in the West, but there is another party to the talks and keeping a secret does not benefit them. Hence, this story. Maybe???

that Europe should start by regaining control of the narrative on the Ukraine crisis...

translation:we need to figure a way out of this mess without the U.S in the room.

Yeah, but who’d be the boogeyman responsible for $5 gas, inflation, recession after Biden gets his Nobel Peace Prize nomination for ending the Ukrainian war?

Months ago, I suggested that the only way Biden could succeed as President would be to engage in a war. I had Iran specifically in mind

Now you say Biden’s war is really between Ukraine and Russia.

Does that really qualify as a President saving war?

All in all, I think not. The American people are not engaged pro nor con.

But....... we’ll see

The Russian money and other assets sequestered in Europe and here will be used to rebuild Ukraine. The Russian sanctions will not e lifted until some arrangement is made to for Russia pay for the war damages outside the separatist regions

Based on my calculations the end of the year is about time for the European economy to enter cascading collapse.
It probably makes sense for Russia to start negotiating after it takes place, not before.

My bet is that after Europe starts crumbling this winter due to a lack of Russian energy, Russia is going to make moves in the Third World to cut their access completely. If Euros are going to pick a military option they’d see in Africa exactly the same thing they planned for the Russians in Ukraine, except it is going to work this time. It sucks to be European. Their time is running out.

What damage outside the separatists regions? I don’t see a lot of it. What do you you think is going to stay of Ukraine before settlement? If you think Russia is going to pay a thing you are dead wrong. The rule is that others are paying to Russia.

What damage outside the separatist areas? What do you count as separatists areas? Is Odessa and Zaporozhiye included? Putin has just signed a bill on express Russian citizenship for Odessa residents where it is already listed not as part of Ukraine. What do you think it means? Get real at once.

Yeah I think Europe is screwed, the US jumped the gun with its proxy war with Russia before alternative supplies for energy were in place. Just incredibly poor planning all around, and it’s going to cost them.
