The U.S. Has Now Spent More in Ukraine Than in the First 5 Years in Afghanistan

The United States is fighting a proxy war in Ukraine against Russian aggression, and we’re not doing it on the cheap. The Biden administration announced on Friday that we were sending another $400 million in military aid to Ukraine. This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed victory over the eastern Luhansk region last week.

Putin jumped the gun a little, although Russian troops hold the upper hand throughout most of the region. The problem for Putin is that those pesky Ukrainians refuse to surrender. And the United States is making their continuing resistance possible by giving Kyiv high-powered weapons to fight with.

To date, we’ve spent $8 billion in military assistance to the Ukrainian army with tens of billions of dollars in military hardware in the pipeline. Congress authorized $54 billion in military and other aid to Ukraine — some of which went to our NATO allies to help us defend Kyiv.

And therein lies the problem. According to the Council on Foreign Relations, NATO countries have not increased their military expenditures since Russia invaded Ukraine.

…and no doubt this Ukrainian debacle will end up damaging the US far, far more than senile Joe’s Afghanistan debacle. I hope Biden’s war and the war cheerleaders come to their senses before the entire West is irretrievably castrated and weakened against the new Russia, China, India, Iran, and South America alliance- historic….something only a corrupted, senile old man could accomplish in less than two years.

It's oddly satisfying to see the Zelensky-ites continue to support this charade.

So? There's a chance that Zelensky is bi. I don't care. The Russians invaded his country.

Perhaps in the end, US taxpayers will donate as much equipment to Putin as we did to the Taliban.

Which FReepers are cheering that, though? Name them, please. Or post a link.

Did you miss the point of my question? Or are you a millennial who was indoctrinated instead of educated on reading comprehension?

Biden and the Dems paid for the Russians to attack the Ukraine by shutting down the American Oil System and allowed the Russians to open the pipelines to provide oil to Europe. This political event allows the Russians to earn over 1 billion dollars per day which funded their War on the Ukraines.

Ah yes, according to the GloboHomo’s and George Soros, if you don’t FULLY support the most corrupt country in Europe, Ukraine then you MUST be a Bolshevik. By all means American taxpayers, you must bend over and take it.

“The Russians invaded his country.”

Russia was directly provoked by the US crossing the redline of discussing admitting Ukraine into NATO.

I’m still waiting for someone to explain our national interests in Ukraine. I don’t give a rats ass about the third most corrupt country on the planet. I certainly do care about the destruction of our economy and increasing inflation. I am also against the brain dead sanctions regime for Russia. It has only help Russia to pay for its war and made oligarchs more wealthy. In fact, is there anyone that can provide me with an example of economic sanctions working?

Williams, where is your usual fire? Where is the snark? Are you beginning to realize that you have been played for a fool?

Zelenskyy is, like our (Canaduh, that is) Prime Mistake Castreau and Netherlands Prime Mistake Mark Rutte, a poodle of ‘der Führer und Reichskanzler’ K(louse) Schwab and his WEF fascists. Putin is the (slightly) lesser of two evils, IMO.

It seems that most of the longest serving NATO nations, the EU, Canaduh, USA, are following policies that mimic the former USSR! (Embracing socialism, equality of outcomes, rather than opportunities, the murder of preborn babies, etc.) The newer members like Poland and other E. European nations are questioning WTF happened to these former stalwarts of democracy.

The West is pushing, pushing, pushing Russia. Western ‘leaders’ don’t GaS about Ukrainians, they are merely cannon fodder in their ‘war’ against Russia. They’ll fight Russia to the last Ukrainian! Instead of a 40,000 ‘rapid deployment force’, they now have 300K soldiers on “ready reserve’! What do you think is going through the minds of Russians, having been invaded by the West in the 19th century (Napoleon, Victoria) and the 20th century (one Herr Schicklgruber)!

The West keeps pushing, thinking that Russia will back down. It didn’t happen with Napoleon, nor did it happen with Hitler! The Russians are not scared of Western bluster and hubris, the ruble maintains its value and, because of ‘pwtro wealth, Russia is VERY wealthy. The West keeps pushing the bear that suffered SO MUCH MORE than the Allies did in WW2, a Russia armed with TACTICAL NUKES! They keep pushing and the THIRD (and fourth, fifth, sixth, etc.) nuclear strike WILL HAPPEN!

Putin is not good, but compared to the STUPIDITY and ARROGANCE being displayed by the WEF/NWO loving fascist leaders of OLD NATO, he shows much more intelligence!

A nuclear war lies at the feet of such fascist Western leaders!
