Former Trump White House counsel Pat Cipollone appeared before the House Jan. 6 committee for an interview Friday and has been willing to answer the panel's questions, a source familiar with the first part of his testimony said.

“He’s been a cooperative witness within the parameters of his desire to protect executive privilege for the office of general counsel,” the source said.

Cipollone, who panel vice chair Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., has repeatedly described as a critical witness, arrived for the videotaped and transcribed closed-door interview shortly before 8:30 a.m. ET, and was still meeting with the panel in the early afternoon.

For four years Trump surrounded himself with disloyal backstabbers from cabinet officials, to Pence, to lowly aides and of course Ivanka. Why?

Sigh. Another ‘We got him this time! moment.

I prefer to think that he is comporting himself within the confines of the law. “Cooperating” isn’t necessarily telling these assholes something untrue that they want to here.

My guess is that the thirty pieces of silver offered up by the deep state may outweigh whatever benefits may derive from being loyal to Donald Trump. After all, they have their careers to consider. Donald Trump, even if he returns to power, will only be around so long.

Because the only people who have any experience in politics and government are disloyal backstabbers?

Being co-operative. Does that mean he is reading from a script provided by the committee?

I think that there was no loyalty to anyone by anyone at any level of the Trump administration.

What did Pence and Ivanka do?

It's interesting how the current thinking is that all of Trump's problems stem from bad picks.

A simple search reveals far different attitudes about his picks at the beginning of his Presidency.

What did Pence and Ivanka do?

Loyally served Trump for four years. In one instance, he refused to go along with a maneuver no VP in American history had ever considered, including Al Gore.

I guess that makes him a traitor.

He is a mix of things, he showed great insight in certain areas, very good leadership in certain things, not so much in other areas. His choice of legal advisors and counsel was not stellar.

“...Cipollone is being ‘cooperative’...” - meaning what???

If Cipollone answers truthfully it will be in support of President Trump.
