Former President Trump’s plans to announce his 2024 presidential campaign as early as this summer, well before what he previously indicated, throws a wrench into Republicans’ strategy for winning back the Senate and House majorities in November.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) made clear they want the 2022 midterms to be a referendum on President Biden and his handling of inflation and the economy.

They're mealy-mouthed pantywaists.
So who the F cares if a large TRUMP wrench is thrown into their "carefully laid plans"?
Trump setting the election table is EXACTLY what we need.
Clarity. And full-throated Americanism. Not pusillanimous pussyfooting.
The Hill, just mainlining copium.
Meanwhile, the subject in the first sentence is plural, while the verb is singular. Idiots. “...plans... throws?”
I doubt if Trump would announce this early. He’ll probably announce sometime after the mid-terms and maybe not until the spring. As soon as he announces he becomes accountable to the Federal Election Commission and has to account for every penny raised and spent.
I will not vote for blank slates. I've been burned too many times by GOP pols that lie about what they stand for, ones who won't even talk about their principles are unworthy of even asking for votes, much less getting them.
The writer is correct. Trump should keep his plans to himself until after the election. Let the focus be on Biden’s disastrous policies, and republican plans for repair, if they have any. If Trump announces early, the whole Rat campaign will be terrorizing the electorate with the specter of Trump 2.0 looming over them.
Thier strategy is to try to get him indicted somewhere to remove him from the playing field. I hope it blows up in their faces.
If his successful ability to thwart their plans was reflected as a baseball batting average, he would be in the hall of fame.
I hope when sworn in on Jan 20, 2025 his first wores are no more Mr. Nice Guy. This is the program and if you don’t go along with it, get lost.
To have a strategy you got to know what you are facing. They either have no idea about the major cheating in 2020 or were complicit.

That pair of mealy mouths have never made anything clear other than preserving their own asses.
Not to worry Hill, the GOP will likely take 100 seats anyway.
Republicans in congress... except for the few ... they can’t go soon enough.. I would wish every stinkin one of the old guard be voted out...
Once they have made their home in Washington and became brainwashed with their corner of power.. they have no thought of we the people.. its all about them. And I’m more tired of them than they know...
Same with lizzy.. she is political bred.
And has no clue as to what President Trump means to a nation in despair.. if not for Trump..
Well this is from The Hill so it has little value.
feh...
I agree. The MSM/deep state want him to announce before the midterms but he wont fall for that crap. He’s already doing damage to the GOPE with his endorsements of MAGA Pubbies’.
Hard to hit your target when it’s not around..
All things from the Shill must be regarded as a turd is in the toilet!
I almost feel like what we have going on is a race between Biden to dump his proggies and the GOPe to dump Qanon.
I love the sound of cowering RINOs
Let the focus be on Biden’s disastrous policies, and republican plans for repair, if they have any
Guess who already has plans?
Now if you want to know who the fool is in your plan, look in a mirror.
In the meantime, Joe is selling off our strategic oil reserve to China and India.
Trump needs to humiliate Team Mitch and Kevin from Heaven. They are the root of the problem in DC.
Trump took the lesson to heart. His example and his endorsed candidates now menace the usual GOP Congressional strategy of avoiding large and clear promises and using victories they are handed by events to service their donors instead of thei electoral base.
