Yep. The phrasing is little awkward.

She also regularly takes her son to drag events and once surprised him with a trip to Las Vegas to meet his favorite drag queen. This whole story ends right here.

Or, “small town parade disrupted by the wokerati choosing someone completely out of touch with small town values.”
To: where's_the_Outrage?
Yeah, doesn’t she sound just like someone a Conservative should support?
Wink. Nod…
It’s always the normal 98.5% of us who should be ashamed isn’t it.

I say he was right about a lot, and just about anyone who uses his name perjoratively is a fool. Which I see even FReepers do on occasion.
We’re on the same page.

Most women, of any persuasion, are gun control advocates. It’s sickening, and is why women really have no business in elected office or on courts. Their emotions overrule the Constitution.

For some reason, “Barf Alerts” are no longer in fashion at FR.

”….On paper, Carter seems like the kind of person conservatives who claim to love the military would support.
She attended the U.S. Naval Academy and served two tours in Iraq after graduating in 2006.....
But Carter is also an outspoken supporter of gun reform in her home state of Texas. She serves as the chair of the Mayor’s Commission Against Gun Violence in Houston, and in the wake of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, she wrote a letter demanding Texas leaders act on gun reform. She also regularly takes her son to drag events and once surprised him with a trip to Las Vegas to meet his favorite drag queen….”
I have absolutely zero doubt that these people like the ones writing the article would think that they have found some kind of inconsistency in conservatives.
Of course, it is nothing of the sort.
They just don’t realize that we are unlike them, and that we don’t latch on to some aspect or another of a person and just assume all of the rest of their viewpoints are in sync with us.
That is what they do.
I give all the kudos (What I call “default respect”) I can to someone who served in the military, but once they show me they are no observer of the oath that they took when they joined the military, and they stand in open opposition to the principles of the US Constitution, they no longer have my default respect.
I treat them with the same amount of respect that I treat other enemies of this country, both foreign and domestic. She just happens to be of the domestic variety.

Joseph McCarthy was absolutely onto something, and it was why they had to destroy him, because he was onto them. The Democrat party in the Roosevelt administration (as well as the Truman administration) was riddled with communists, and protected them.
The best book on the subject, and I have read a lot of them… Is called “Blacklisted By History” by M. Stanton Evans.
Joseph McCarthy should be a celebrated American hero. It is a disgrace and shame that we have allowed him to be slandered the way that he was… In the way that he is… Even by some conservatives who don’t know any better but should.

Good post. Right on!
Serving in the military doesn’t give you perpetual cover and it certainly that alone does not make you a conservative. The military is full of such wokesters these days beavering away at the USA. From Milley on down.

When I grew up as a navy brat, I never saw people or heard of people like some of the people we see today in the military. And when I served, I never saw any of them.
I have no doubt they were there, but they kept their heads down. And a good thing it was that they did. I would say that 80% of the people I ever encountered in the military when I was in either believed in the in innate goodness of the United States and the constitutional republic we live under, or mouthed it even if they didn’t believe it.
Those views they hid back then, and spout freely today are 100% incompatible with military service.
They were at least smart enough back then to keep those views hidden. And a good thing, because it could get your ass kicked.
Like I said, I know that they existed, But if they wanted to stay in the military or advance, they had to put a sock in it.

And one more thing… Even many of those who are squishy on this kind of thing, you knew they understood that their job was to be part of the US military.
Nowadays, their primary job is not to be part of the US military, it is to advance a social agenda.
And they do so, with the full approval of the people in charge. If you have ever read the book “Once An Eagle”, It seems that those in charge now, and those getting advancement and being promoted are all Marxist “Massengales”.
They have And actively aggressively purging the “Sam Damon’s” from the military. And when we get into a shooting war, against an enemy who might go toe to toe with us, we are going to see the damage they have wrought.
It breaks my heart.
