Sgt. Rick Alexander of Haltom City police said during a briefing that the three officers did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, as one officer was hit in the right arm, finger and leg, a second male officer hit in both legs and a third officer hit in upper thigh.
An elderly female had called 911 and police arrived at the residence where officers returned fire during the incident, Alexander said. The elderly female sustained non-life threatening injuries. A woman was found dead in the home and a man was found dead outside, Alexander said.
The suspected gunman was described as a white male with dark hair who was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and had a military style rifle handgun near him, police said. It is not yet known the relationship between the victims and the shooter.
"The main concern is getting the scene secure, trying to get to our officers, be able to get them out of harms way while also trying to keep containment on the suspect," Alexander said, WFAA reported.
The Texas Rangers will be taking over the investigation.

Anything described as military makes it more scary to useful idiots. It was probably a Barreta 92FS.

I thought it was an AR-15 style handgun as well. I read the article from the Dallas Morning news, and it says “AR-15 style rifle and a handgun.” The “and a” got dropped somehow.
I don’t know either. If the dude had been non white, do you suppose the description would have been so detailed?
Likely a short barreled rifle sold as a “pistol” because there is no stock. Often , “braces” are added that aren’t technically stocks (but are used like them in practice).
They would not have mentioned his race if he been a non white as demonstrated countless times - even fox news 🤪

I see people who buy a Shockwave and then add a brace or even a stock have them for sale on gun trader outlets all the time but I steer clear of them. IMO the ATF is itching to catch stuff like this.
That’s media speak for a poor’s SBR work around. Amazing that a $50 piece of plastic vs a multi position stock makes the difference but then again NFA 86 wasn’t about logic it was a compromise to.keep pistols legal at the time...all pistols.
Obviously a fully automatic revolver with a high capacity magazine with incendiary bullets able to penetrate 2 inches of steel.
