Gravesite of Charlie Daniels vandalized in Middle Tennessee

The Charlie Daniels Band said someone glued a spouse’s military ID to the marble a few months ago and damaged the grave. Then, someone dug up a newly planted dogwood tree and took it.

The CDB reported Mt. Juliet Police will be increasing patrols near his grave and video surveillance will soon be installed at the gravesite.

I just wish he hadn't kicked me while saying I had a commie flag tacked up in my garage. I don't even have a garage...you can call home and ask my wife!

A few years ago I read about Uneasy Rider in his autobiography.

I was hoping to read that it was a real story. In the book he called it a novelty song.

I e seen freshly planted plants, shrubs and bushes disappear from gravesites in a matter of minutes. I suspect the groundsmen have side business andknow quality stuff when they see it. The idea that some random shrub thief happened by just at that moment and took advantage of a five minute window seems unlikely.

In 2004 two Tennessee policemen were killed by a fleeing felon in a stolen car. Both officers were married and had 10 children between them. Daniels put on a benefit concert for their survivors and got everybody to donate everything needed to put on the show FREE. Everybody from the venue to the ticket agency did their part FREE. 100% of the gate went to the two families.

In my book that’s not the sort of man who deserves to have his final resting place vandalized.

But it is nice to see someone honored because they kept their people fed rather then for some of the other things monarchs do.
