Climate change activists with a group calling itself Tyre Extinguishers are celebrating their first 'action' in New York City - deflating the tires of 40 SUVs on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
The movement, which originated in the United Kingdom, seeks to dissuade people from owning SUVs in urban areas, and switch instead to more environmentally-friendly vehicles.
The SUVs they vandalized had leaflets let on the windshield, which stated: 'Attention: Your gas guzzler kills'.
On Twitter, they boasted about their actions.
'BIG NEWS: TYRE EXTINGUISHERS STRIKE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NEW YORK CITY!' they tweeted on Tuesday.
They said: '40 SUVs disarmed in the Upper East Side, the first of many.
'We have an American English leaflet ('tire' rather than 'tyre') on our website so USA folks, you can join in!'
Police are investigating, but no arrests have been made.

Let them try that in the ‘hood on an SUV owned by a drug dealer.
Maybe that’s why they went to the Upper East Side, which is a very upscale neighborhood. They went to a place where they were unlikely to encounter armed resistance.
And then you have to buy new tires. What is used to make them?
Could it be petroleum?

In some states, you are allowed to use deadly force to protect your property.
I have no problem dropping some bodies around 4 tires, to drive home that point. I doubt any of those protestors had a meaningful job, they certainly had no respect for anyone else’s personal property, property that the owner paid dearly for, needs to drive for their job, and has sacrificed a goodly portion of their income over several years in order to obtain.
For some reason, people think that we are all equal; I submit that we are not. We have productive, law abiding, hard working people - who are the backbone of any country.
Then we have the law breaking, uneducated, unmotivated welfare dependent parasites that see nothing wrong in destroying things that other people have created. I do not view them as equal, in any form. These are expendable parasites that society would be better off without.

Deflated tires can be refilled. Perforated bodies cannot. These “activists” had best watch their six. A lot of crazy, angry folks out there. Especially in NYC.
Yep.....whn th Floyd protests were errupting they tried to start one here.....loved it when armed store owners stood in front of their stores, armed vets in the square and it took just one guy hitting another and they were all forced out of town within an hour. About 300 gone!
They need to make “Security protected” signs like the ones on homes only for cars.

This is their job - they were likely hired to do this work - with an hourly wage, benefits, legal counsel, plane tickets, perhaps bonuses for the leaders.
