Do Mask Mandates Work? Bay Area COVID Data From June Says No.
SFgate ^ | June 29, 2022 | Eric Ting

In early June, during an uptick in COVID-19 cases, Alameda County was the only Bay Area county to bring back an indoor mask mandate.

At the time, county Health Officer Dr. Nicholas Moss said, “Putting our masks back on gives us the best opportunity to limit the impact of a prolonged wave on our communities.”

But regional case data provides no discernible evidence that the rule, which was lifted June 25, succeeded at that goal.

The graphs below compare Alameda County’s seven-day average case rate from the past two months to rates in neighboring Contra Costa, Santa Clara and San Francisco counties. Contra Costa and Santa Clara, in particular, are natural comparisons to Alameda, because they have similar vaccination rates and demographic data. San Francisco, on the other side of the bay, provides an additional point of reference. All data comes from the California Department of Public Health.

I said this from day 1.

Mask and social distancing and lockdowns are and were a way for governments to gain more power.

...and look where they got us. The more power they have the worse off we are.

When I went to the pharmacy for my new passport photo, Uncle Sam bought me six n95 masks for working with wood and chemicals in my shop. I’m sanding the drywall tomorrow. They’ll come in handy.

Score!

Fraudci has known about this from the start. That’s why he was laughing about the viability of masks in the early days. I hope this puts the nail in the coffin for this nonsense.

If Karens want to mask up just because, have at it.

Still lots of soy boys, Karens, and Asians in my part of the world wearing the stupid things even though we haven’t had a mandate for over a year now.

Well, if you believe magic talismans work, then masks might work. Otherwise, no.

I read SF Gate daily and I’m AMAZED they ran this story and admitted this. The Alameda county health officer (like most of them) is stupid and way in over his head. I live in a neighboring county (Contra Costa). I think he was hoping that other counties would follow and NONE in CA did and NONE in the entire United States did either. Out of 3000+ counties.

What an embarrassment. He thought others would follow suit and it only lasted 3 weeks. Like when that PA county did the same and it only lasted 3 days.

I’m furious about mask mandates and still furious about the schools shutting down. Totally ruined my two teens’ high school experiences which they will never get back. And for nothing. Literally NOTHING. CA hates kids. . .

Possibly but politicians were under incredible pressure to show that they were ‘doing something’.

It’s all about teaching COMPLIANCE….
...not “following the science”:

Masks are:

1) a sign of submission, subversion and subjugation
2) mandated in order to dehumanize
3) virtue signaling devices
4) meant to provide constant reinforcement of fear
5) used to destroy community, friends and family normal communication
6) implemented to create isolation, confusion, anxiety, destroy human connectivity, trust and interactions
7) mandated to exacerbate illness
8) intended to aid in the abandonment of the belief and reliance on our immune systems
9) intended to refute integrous science
10) signal to positions of power that you are willing to give up all of your rights and freedoms based on anything they say, even if it is a BIG FAT LIE!

I tell people (and I am completely correct) that they can burn incense and chant in a dead language and realize the same benefits as wearing a mask

Sickeningly, the only places requiring masks here are medical establishments. So, the people you depend on for medical care are superstitious primitives. There is a confidence builder.

Yep. Lived it at my house. No friends on campus, no banter with teachers... my son’s Senior year at College Park was a disaster, and he’d been on-track to get a Foreign Language award for 4 years in a single language. All pretty much burned to the ground; the isolation destroyed his rhythm.

Then DVC was no better with their pressure to route kids into remote classes. They have some in-person sections, and I guess they’re bringing back more and more, but it’s too little, too late; my son has thrown up his hands, and gone and joined the Army.

Yes in my family my then high-school junior’s life was changed the most by Covid (shutdowns). He had just broken his first 5 minute mile in track and field in early March 2020—and then never ran a step again.

He had been regularly drumming in our church band and then not only never picked up a drumstick again, never stepped foot in church again.

He flunked out of “remote” high school; I pulled him out and homeschooled him. He got no graduation, no prom, nothing his older brothers enjoyed with their senior years.

He’s doing well now, but it’s stunning. And for what?

I hope your son thrives in the Army and I’m sorry he didn’t get that foreign language award. Kids in 2020-21 deserved so much more.
